Yes, papertowels work - fold it into fourths, at the open corner separate the layers (3 and 1) and fold the corners down over the outside. This makes a sort of cup and will keep the grounds from spilling out. One side will have more layers so if your basket has a hole on one side or the other, put the thinnest side to the hole.
If you don't have papertowels and are really desperate, make coffee in a tea pan on the stove - grounds and all. Strain it after it is ready with a tea strainer or whatever you can find.

I have used paper towels in the past when I am out of filters one paper towel works well

I've used paper towel a number of times...works ok.....get some grounds in the bottom of the pot...but...if you *need* your coffee, it's worth it!

Hi we have a couple of bad times in our life,but why is it when you need something it is always on a sunday?we used a new pair of tights from my wife,and coffee was lovely
