Well I have lived with genetical depression my whole life so I know alot on this subject. Really if you haven't had any trama or added stress that could influnence this state than the guide lines are 2 weeks check out depression.com for more on the symptom list right now the days are getting shorter the sun is farther from the earth and this affects people with depression in all sorts of ways I feel this every august through november. Sometimes depression has a trigger that you may or may not remember or something you thought you delt with is festering in the back of your mind which can trigger depression so I recomend starting out with a therapist first if the therapist recomends seeing a phyciatrist to get on meds than that will probably be the best way the thing is, is some of the drugs work well on some and not others so keep your mind open they may have to try different ones to get the right one this can take a long time but the payoff for the wait is worth it. It took them 6 years to find the drug that really worked and I feel better than ever!!! So good luck to you, I hope you can lick it because living with depression sucks really bad I know!!! And eventually it will trigger suicidal thoughts and actions but please if you ever feel this way e-mail me!!!!!!!!! You really don't want to do that this I also know!!!!!!!

Yes I have felt this way before. I went to see a therapist when I was about 19. I am 31 and I still see one. They say if you have bouts of cying, worthlessness, fatigue, isolation etc.. for more than 2 weeks then you might be suffering from depression. I found out that I was bipolar. Which explained a lot of the things that I was going through growing up. i would get sad for no reason at all and didn't want to get out of bed. This would happen for periods of time and would keep coming back! I also had periods of extreme hiperness, irritability, obsessiveness. I never had any balance, I was either high or low! They were extreme though. I know that some doctors label people with mental illness but mine was really a problem. If it's affecting your life in a negative way you might want to seek help. I take meds adn have for many years! It's helped me extremely!

Yes I've experienced what u have. U could go to a doc. I was a stud and due to some non-understood reasons I gained 15 kilos of weight, within a month or two. That changed my world. What helped me is when I stopped denying it and took it up as a challenge. When I said to myself that I dont mind being a loser for life but I wont give up on life and my will to succeed. From my experience I've understood that insecurity is the root of the cause, and even laziness and taking things for granted is another. U have never done enough and U place is never secured . It is secured only till u work hard.I'm back and fine. I've grown with this experience and life is beautiful now. Dont envy me take inspiration as I took from others at my time. Trust me the early feeling of coming out of it is unexplainable. there is an endless rebirth of energy in u , and thinking now , I feel the experience was worth it. All this only if u take it as a challenge. It took me six months after I made a decision to take it as a challenge , to come out of depression. So be patient and God bless. Also talk about ur problem and how it feels to ur supportive close ones, take reduces a lot of burden on ur heart and definately helps

That is a sign of depression and you need to go see a Dr. They can help you..If you start to drink all it will do is make it even worse....It may take the sadness away for the time being but it will be there the next day. You need to get help ...Things will get better ...You need to have a more positive outlook on life ...I felt the same as you at one point in life ..I talked to someone and they say you have to take the good with the bad and the good will overcome the bad.. I started walking and joined an exercise place for women only...when i start to feel sad i go work out it clears my head and makes me feel better. You just have to look ion the mirror and tell yourself I can do anything I put mind too and I am going to make it. I wish you the best of luck...

Please do see a doctor. In addition to any medication they give you (if any), try to eat a balanced diet and get a lot of exercise. Just getting out and moving around will help you feel better. Do not use alcohol espcially if you take a medication. Alcohol is a depressant and makes things worse. I know all this from recent personal experience and am still fighting depression.

See a doctor...and don't be afraid to tell them everything that's going on. You will feel soooo much better after seeking the help you need. No shame needed, you should be proud that you're going to take the first steps to getting your life back on track....Follow the docs recommendations on therapy/medications and I know you'll get to feeling better soon. Lots of people suffer from depression, it's treatable. Please see a doc and start getting healthy again. Good luck!

My friend at some point in our lives we have all felt that way. You need to see an MD SOON. There are RXs that will help you to get in balance. That is the first step. Then you need to talk with someone. Start with a good solid freind and if that does not do it, seek professional help.

Yes, you should go to your doctor. He or she should prescribe an anti depressant such as Paxil. I hope things get better for you, good luck.
