Yep, I had a cat nicked by a nutter when she moved. The cat came back about 2 or 3 weeks later (from Sutton to Croydon). Ok, not a great distance, but far enough through several busy suburbs.

As you probably have seen, all cats love to sniff the floor.
When my cats have gone missing, I have run outside bare foot and rubbed my feet on the concrete paving stones from my house to the possible paths that they would take. (obviuosly in the semi darkness - so i don't look like a totla weirdo!) This way hopefully they can pick up my scent and run back home.
good luck

I sympathise with you! I have 3 cats and 1 of them went missing once. He came back 4 days later, hungry and very dirty but very pleased to see his mummy! I'm sure your cat will come home, but after she does, and you still suspect the wierdy neighbours - post cat poo through their letter box!

Cats can always find their way back, sometimes they just want to go roaming, meet a bloke or something! There was a famous cat that went missing in our village and appeared like a year later, a bit skinnier.
Doubt anyone would steal your cat (unless it's valuable) as they're willful animals and it's very, very hard to keep them where they don't want to be.
Good luck!

Aww I have three cats and I have spent all night out in the streets with a torch before looking like a wierdo trying to find one of them but they do come back. As a hint, your cat knows that that house is home. Unless it is kept in another house and not allowed outside for three weeks solid as soon as it is allowed out it will return to you. Cats know where their home is. I hope you get her back :(

once you positioned costs around "by risk," i anticipate that that is considering which you do purposely run those unfavorable animals over. regrettably, that's heartless. I recommend you provide up. in the experience that your loved ones custom is eating soup that includes cat meet, then you might locate a thank you to proceed that... yet not mutually with your neighbor's cats. purchase cat meat from an Asian Grocery, do not in hassle-free terms kill the cats that your friends offered and spent a lot of money elevating. those cats have become a factor of /their/ kin custom. understand theirs so they might understand yours. awww thats sad. bad neighbors? lol, try becoming friendly with them, bake em a cake or cookies or something. they will feel bad and hopefully tell you if they had anything to do with your missing cat. check their trash at night lol! eeek thats a scary thought. anyways, yeah if it wasnt the neighbors put up posters at local vets and pet supplies stores-- where loving pet owners go all the time, they will be more likeley to see your poster. also put them up around your neighborhood if anyone has even seen it ask them (on the poster) to contact you. another idea could be that it got hit by a car.... my cat got hit by a car :( sadnesss.......

If she can get out and wasn't ditched in a far away place. If you've any strong evidence she was taken from your neighbors, might be worth a call to the local authorities. That qualifies as theft.
