try buying some frozen fruit and using that instead in your cereal and oatmeal. Get the unsweetened of course. Coffee mate makes a sugar free stuff for your coffee but be sure to read your NUTRITION LABELS on sugar free items, sometimes they add fat to make the flavor better and the calories are tremendous!!
A really good book for you to read is DIET SIMPLE by Katherine Tallmadge. She writes about 300 easy ways to switch things that you eat now into healthier alternatives and how much you can potentially lose by just making that switch. i read it and loved it, it helped me make a lot of painless changes in my life.
I don't like sweeteners either, and I find that the more diet pop I drink, the harder time I have with sweet cravings. Whatever that means. Sometimes, a sugar craving that is undeniable is a sign that you are not taking in enough calories to begin with...

You need some sugar in your diet to keep you healthy but sugar isn't the only thing that makes you gain weight, a lot of starchy foods will put on weight to. If you don't like any of the sweeteners ( which are several and I think equal is the best of them all - no after taste ) you can use honey which is a natural sugar like what your body produces. Try to snack on fresh fruit which has natural sugars in them also so that your body can get the sugar it needs without adding more.

Listen I understand your diet dilema with sugar. I used to love sugar a lot too, but please for yourself and your health reduce it as much as possible. I developed a mild case of diabetes because I did not eat right, and sugar was one of them. I only tell you this because I do not want to see anyone else develop medical problems like I did because of my diet and overuse of sugar. If you must use it, use a little at a time, but if you can cut it out all together for your overall health that would be the best.

you definitely want to cut out all of that sugar because of diabetes which is no joke. maybe you can start by using less sugar or cut down on eating things that you put sugar on, try some vegetables, drink more water and try a sweetener, which is much better than sugar.it wont hurt to try one atleast once, i bet you'll like it because to me, you cant really tell the difference.

Hey cutting back on the sugar and using a substitute is all good but it's more of a mind over matter thing. It's like this, every time you go to that sugar container think of a reason not to use so much for e.g"I could be killing my system with too much of this" or "do I want to look like a blob of excess fat?" then you use as much sugar as your conscience permits,I had to learn to do it !!!

Replace the sugar with sweet and low gradually. ie, if you use 3 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of coffee, initially make it 2 tsp of sugar and 1 sachet of sweet and low. Gradually increase sweet and low and decrease sugar.

have you tried splenda? that's what I use...
anyhow, keep a journal for one week. Write down every granule of sugar you use. Get out the measuring spoons... if you ues one tablespoon for your cereal, write it down.
The next week try cutting that down... maybe use 1/2 a tablespoon in your cereal.
It will taste as though you have no sugar at all...but it takes time (like a couple of weeks) for your taste buds to settle down. I used to use 3 tablespoons of splenda in my coffee & now I am down to one... 3 makes me sick!
I am a sweet freak too...splenda really helped me A LOT- it tastes the most like sugar...

Unfortunately in cereal, coffee, tea I can't help it....I'm like u!!
But I decided to change, I have stopped as much as I can to have any of them (ONLY A 200ml CUP ON WEEKENDS) and I have replaced them with:
*200ml Light Chocolate drink (its lovely and its very low in calories)
*light yogourts with fruits or cereals
*cup of fresh milk
*have 2 or 3 fruits that you like
*light fresh cheese (you can add salt and pepper to your tast)
When you desperately wish sugar have a sugar free gum, they are really tasty!!

Try Splenda, and also try eating more fruit. The sugar in friut is unprocessed and may help curb the craving for table sugar.
