Look for whatever reason you two split up. That sign should tell you that both of you are not meant for each other. The only sign that he will send is when he really gets horny and wants a one night stand, and then he will be on his way again. Let him go, you do not even want to be a part of this. Things happen for a reason, and the reason you split up in the long picture of things is that you were not meant to be together. You do not deserve the hurt that you will go through if you let this guy back in your life. Find someone who will love you and treat you like no other. Just do not look in the wrong places like bars or parties. Those are not even the right place to look for Mr. Right. Those places are for one night stands, and a lot of hurt that goes along with those type of relationships.

You want him back and not the other way around. I suggest therefore that you send the signal. Enginners refer to signalling as a sender. the message and medium, and the receiver. Mis-communication can be in any of the three. You need confirmation.

he will call u or better come crowling back and saying "please take me back, im so so so sorry" and the better scenario that while crowling he will fetch a diamond ring in his teeth saying "will u forgive me and marry me?" alas, it can happen only in indian movies
