Marriage is not automatic Spouse Visa any more, meaning you could stay as long as you like after that application.
Immigration requires a bunch of paperwork and a long waiting time. There are a lot of people who have waited in line that are watching if the Mexicans get a free ride.
Green Card is the fastest and easiest to gain entry. You can get a Green Card either through the Green Card Lottery or getting an American employer to sponsor you as a guest worker. That way you are within the confines of America, completing your paperwork with the Department of Justice laws instead of at an American Consulate with the laws the Department of State, and standing in long lines.
Different rules for each foreign country concerning quotas. Start your research with an immigration lawyer or the www.ins.gov.
Getting caught illegally within the USA cancels any paperwork you had in progress.

Well the first thing is to enter the country (U.S) legally and if you came to the U.S, legally on a visit make sure to return two weeks before the visit run out and then trying come again for a longer time; once you in the country apply for a work visit or permit and why working for a year or so and obeying all the laws then you can apply for residency; is the green card five years after that you become eligible for becoming a U.S, citizen and then you may apply and take the test.
Good Luck,

You do not say how old you are. Are you in the recruiting age area? What nationality are you? Your best bet is to ask an immigration attorney. The first consultation is usually free. He will check how many visas are allowed for your country. You can always get married, but if you do, do it for love. Your spouse can claim you, so you get your green card and then in 3 years, you can apply for citizenship. If your marriage is a scam only for the green card, and you get caught, it will result in fines, deportation. no green card nor the possibililty of applying for it again or coming into this country.

you need to apply for a visa then a green card, then you can apply for citizenship.
You can not obtain citzenship by marrying an American Citizen. That does not exist any longer, and in fact you can't join the american military, as far as i know, unless you are a citizen.

Becoming an American citizen is a totally separate issue from serving in the military. Our military is strictly volunteer professionals - if you don't want to serve, don't sign up for it.
