'No one wants pearls in pork, that's what oysters are for.' It took me almost the whole day to 'get' that, but it's an interesting thought.
I asked a Q about what hogs are really like, and some farmers answered who said they are mean. This verse says also, 'lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces', so it's not just a matter of the pearls not being appreciated and getting dirty, but the hogs will attack and hurt you and the pearls will get lost in the muck.
Has anyone felt like that? Shared something of value and only got a kick in the head for it?
