Scientology is undeniably a cult.
Every cult can be defined as a group having all of the following five characteristics:
1. It uses psychological coercion to recruit, indoctrinate and retain its members
2. It forms an elitist totalitarian society.
3. Its founder leader is self-appointed, dogmatic, messianic, not accountable and has charisma.
4. It believes 'the end justifies the means' in order to solicit funds & recruit people.
5. Its wealth does not benefit its members or society.
Are Cults Harmful?
To remain within the strict mental and social confines of a cult for even a short time can have the following disastrous effects:
Loss of choice and free will.
Diminished intellectual ability, vocabulary and sense of humor.
Reduced use of irony, abstractions and metaphors.
Reduced capacity to form flexible and intimate relationships.
Poor judgment.
Physical deterioration.
Malnutrition.
Hallucinations, panic, dissociation, guilt, identity diffusion and paranoia.

No, and actually the information is interior the shown fact that L Ron Hubbard under no circumstances made funds from Scientology. in fact, beforehand of publishing Dianetics he used his income as a author to fund his examine into the human strategies and spirit. His writings have been in many style, including secret, Fiction, Thrillers, technology Fiction and he became a broadcast author interior the Explorer's club. He made Scientology because of the fact he found solutions to help guy and wanted to share that. His first writings on the project of the strategies (Dianetics) became sent unfastened to the entire scientific community. Does that sound like somebody attempting to make funds off of a faith? each time he necessary funds he basically wrote yet another e book. He lived on his royalties and whilst he died he left his belongings to the Church of Scientology (interior the tens of millions).

If anyone wants to be totally whacked out like the confused and bewildered Tom Cruise, let them join the Scientology cult. A larger load of cra*p has rarely been deposited on Planet Earth. A "religion" created by a science fiction writer on a dare is just what the world needs, isn't it?

A dude named L. Ron Hubbard invented Scientology after writing a big long thesis on how you could make a crapload of $$ by inventing a religion and duping a bunch of morons to believe it.
Apparently, he was right. He wrote this book called Dionetics (whatever the f THAT is) and it's the bible for scientology. He made a lot of money, but died anyway... yet the bs lives on.

Scientology was created by a science fiction writer for a bet. It is so wacko that it is difficult to know which wacko is official and which wacko is just speculation.

Not entirely - the media siezed the opportunity to use smal excerpts from an OT 3 document and blew it all out or proportion - basically it was one creation theory. If you really want to know the truth about our church - please visit OUR website
www.scientology.org and there you will find all you want to know.
