Muslims insist Jesus was a Muslim. Did Jesus mention anything about praying 5 times a day? Did he tell his followers to not take someone as a friend based on their religion? Did Jesus require his followers to make a pilgrimage to Israel at least once in their life "if they can afford it"? Did Jesus claim that Jews changed scripture? Did Jesus claim that he flew to Israel on the back of a mythical creature and had a chat with Moses?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

He wasn't a Muslim.. But he told us about coming false prophets...

Mathew 24:11 "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."

1) Praying 5 times a day: No, in fact in Matthew 6:5 he forbid public displays of prayer
2) Can not think of a specific saying by Jesus on the subject.
3) Jesus never made any mention of pilgrimage to Israel at any time in his writings, nor do any other Old or New Testament writers. Pilrimage is not taught in the Bible or by Jesus
4) The Jews had the time of Jesus had the Torah (or Christian Old Testament), which they divided into two major sections, the Law and the Prophets, but the also had added several volumes of Traditions that explained and added to the Torah. Jesus said that their Traditions were making of no affect the Law and the Prophets, and in that way they were changing the meaning of the Torah, but he did not say that they had changed the words in the Torah, rather he assure them in Matthew 5:18 that not even a single letter (a jot or tittle - which were Hebrew letters) would disappear from the Torah. Jesus said that the Old Testament scriptures are correct and reliable and have not been changed.
5) How can you ride on a mythical creature? By definition, it would not exist. No, the Bible does not say anywhere that Jesus flew to Israel on anything. He did however have a time when both Moses and Elijah appears to him and they had a conversion. What was said in the conversion is not recorded. (See Matthew 17:1-9 for the event).

Was Jesus a Muslim? Considering that the Muslim religion was not founded until 600 years after the time of Jesus, it would not be possible for Him to be Muslim. He was Jewish according to the Bible, and followed that Jewish laws and rituals his entire life.

My goodness. The ignorance of both question and so many answers is nearly nauseating.

Religions are progressive.

Religions have been introduced to the world like school grades. With each new Manifestation of God came the next level of spiritual education.

Christ was one of many, though, like graduating from grammer school to High School, a most important level.
But after Christ came other grades.
Muhamad taught one.
Bahaulla taught the last one.
In another, I think it's 5,000 years, will be another.

After all, if we, mere human beings, are smart enough not to expect a new born to handle advance trig, don't you think God is smart enough to know his young children can't handle advance spirituality right out of Eden?

Though I don't think the Muslims believe in Bahaulla, they do believe, like the Baha'is, that religions are progressive, like school grades.

With this thought, no, Christ was not Muslim, but he was as much a part of the coming of Muhamad as 2nd grade is a part of the coming of 3rd.
And, likewise, Muslims and Baha'is as much came from Christian and Jew as 3rd graders came from 2nd graders.

As for your mythical creature comment...
You can't believe in that, yet you believe that Christ walked on water?
That a burning bush spoke to Moses?
Water turned into wine?
A man was created from dirt or a woman from a man?
That a big ol' family and two of every critter on earth fit on one boat?
My goodness, you are a funny, close minded, little person, aren't you?

It is not the Jesus who decides to pray 5 times a day or one time a week! It is only "I AM" - the Almighty EL / Allah to decide what he likes or dislike for humankind.
Muslim - means who submits his will to God and in this sense all prophets from Adam to Jesus and lastly Mohammad were all Muslims.

Do you think Jesus did not submit his will to God?
Jesus said"I DO THINGS..WITH THE FINGER OF GOD"?

If Jesus was Jewish Why Jews still not accept him as God or atleast a legitimate Jew-Prophet in Israel??

How long you will waist time and hate Muslims??
Believe me! there is no prophet of God comming after Mohammad(pbuh): It is already 1400 Years and none has come yet!! and still waiting????????

Did Jesus asked you to hate Muslims? Think again.

The principle islam is to worship one god - as long as you understood this you're a muslim so, you can be buddist,hindu.bahai.jewish and christian, you're still a muslim by beliveing in just one god (or allah cool term from arabic speaking).Jesus was dead when islam was around so how the hell he wants to do all those stuff? Since jesus is wise and good nature, very much unlike you what makes you think he will not be a practicing muslim? Jeezz, there are christians minister (check the net my friend) revert to islam, not be agaisnt mankind but for the sake of mankind and there people like you born not of anykind coz' you choose only to be a immature homosapiens of the laughing kind.

Yes he was a muslim, in that he submitted to God. He did tell people not to make friends with people based on religion, and even said he had come to divide a family mother against daughter father against son.You are confusing the shariah of Islam with the linguistical meaning of the word. Muslims know Jesus was a Jew, and lived by the shariah of Moses, so of course they dont think any of the things you suggested. Yes Jesus told people the scriptures were being changed, abandoned or not followed, have you read the NT, he is constantly railing against the Pharisees for their arrogance and poor understanding of the scripture. Jesus is mentioned as praying with his forehead to the ground, just as Muslims do. He didnt pray five times a day because in the Jewish shariah it was prescribed twice in a day, i think. Allah knows best.

Jesus was a Jew. He did not require a pilgrimage. He may well have prayed 5 or more times a day. I assume he liked to talk to his father rather often. He told the pharisee and saduchee that they had twisted the word to their own benefit. He did not claim to fly on the back of any mythical creature. He transfigured when he was speaking to moses. And finally yes he did say to not have fellowship with someone who did not follow the religion.

he was born a Jew and he died a Jew, his disciples turned him to the prophet of a new religion years after he died.
I say he was a Jew, named after another famous Jew, that's Joshua, who made the walls of Jericho fall and stopped the sun and moon for the duration of a battle - Yeshu was Jesus Hebrew name, and Joshua's name in Hebrew was Yehoshua. the first is the "modern" 1 century B.C. version of the older name that was from 15 century B.C.
