Romans 7:15-18 "15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not."
You cannot stop by yourself.. because there's nothing good in us... and also you're not going to be forgiven by your own works.. but with the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and dying for our sins...
Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."..
Ask God to light your heart and to be the king of your life..

Let's see what the bible says...
Matthew 5:34-37.But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35. Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Yes it is sin...but you can by the power of God stop..because you know now it is...so if you want to be pleasing to God ...simply choose to stop and repent...(turn away from). I know they don't teach the same things at the catholic church...So I would seek the truth according to the bible ..not just a man...God bless

Yes becaue ur using his name in vane, u should only mention God to glorify his name and for possitive things, Or like "Ohh my God" is also a sin because it had no purpose being said. Hope to help u. Once ur aware ull catch ur self saying it and pretty soon ull stop, If u want to stop ull mess up sometimes but He will understand that ur trying to quit so he wont hold it against u?

Whether the phrase "swear to God" is using God's name as a curse word, I will let others debate. My concern is that when you "swear to God", you are making a sacred oath. If you promise something with a "swear to God", you are making a God a witness to those words and if you do not keep that promise, asking God to punish you for breaking that promise. If you "swear to God" when you are actually lying, again that is asking God to witness those words and punish you if you are lying. So it is probably a dangerous thing to do. Jesus warned about the danger of oath swearing (which is what "swear to God is). He warned that it leads to trouble.
Matthew 5:33-37 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

I presume you mean cursing... it is sin, repent and stop it. If you mean taking a vow, this can be dangerous if you don't keep it.
