I thought this is standard practise in a work place.

People fake illnesses because bad news always has company.
whenever people want instant sympathy or understanding ( whether an excuse for a day off work or someone to acknowledge them ) then illness hits the spot every time. Real or not it gives an instant reaction ( I used to do it to get a day off school as if I was convincing enough it always worked)

everyone has skived off at least once in their life, I used to fake migraines and have the day off work, but I actually do suffer from them so can't do it very often in case I really do get one a few days later!! I only did that because the hours I used to work were unreasonable and I was not allowed to take holidays for almost a year.

Yeah but only to get out of school and college but I've learnt not to do it again because now I have IBS and that causes me to miss alot of college and my percentage is low but wouldnt be so bad if I hadnt faked bein ill on other occasions. Plus it makes ppl worry unnecessarily LOL

Yeah all the time when I was younger so I never had to go to school!
But not faked it so you make out it is a terrible illness!
Not like the one out of friends did when he pretended to have cancer!
If he knew anyone who had cancer or died from it maybe he would not have done it!!!!!!

Yes, I'm sure 99% of people have faked an illness, to get off work or school, I used to suddenly feel very sick when it was time for bed when I was younger, so my mother would keep me off school, it never worked though..... haha she used to tell me if I'm still sick in school the teacher will bring me home.........but she never did....must not have been good at fakin it.....

when i was at school i faked having stomach ache so i didn't go to school. But, when my mom asked if i was hungry and i ate a banana sandwich she sent me to school in the afternoon!!! So it didn't get me far, and i haven't bothered to do it since. Mind you i am so clumsy and sickly i always have colds or doing something like twisting my ankle anyway so i always have legit reasons to be off sick!! ;)

I've faked having a cold or the flu when I didn't feel like going to work.. I work in a hospital, and they won't let you come in if you have the cold or flu.

Yes, I told my boss that I had food poisoning and as I worked with food my company wanted me to have tests and the doctor requested I "go to the toilet" in a tube, delightful.
I think I had a hangover, so I needed an excuse, it was the wrong one!!
