I am late 40s' and not totally unattractive, but meeting available, decent men is almost impossible! Any ideas. I have never dared to sign on at a dating agency etc, and am not sure I could!

They're on the internet, my dear, using online dating services. At least, that's where I met mine, and I just married for the second time - I'm over 50.
Like you, older men have found that there is nowhere to meet someone of the opposite sex. But unlike women, they don't have silly hangups about signing on to online services.
It saddens me that when I suggest using online services, so many of my friends say, "Oh no! I couldn't! I'll look desperate!"
Don't they realise that everyone else on the dating site is in the same situation as them? Are they likely to be in any position to throw stones?
Browse the sites carefully until you find one that caters for serious relationships, and has a reasonable selection of older men. And dont wait for them to contact you! Unfortunately, many women lie about their ages and use old photos on these sites. So men will typically contact women who confess to younger ages, to be on the safe side. So you aren't likely to receive many contacts.
Instead, be brave! YOU contact the men. Email them and say "I dont want a cyber relationship, I am old-fashioned enough to think it's important to meet face to face. If you reply to this email with your phone number, I will call you and arrange to meet for coffee."
Usually, the man will be so delighted that a woman is interested in him, that he'll be happy to meet.
It's perfectly safe. Don't give any of your contact details in teh email, and when you arrange to meet, make it somewhere public like a coffee shop or restaurant. Some dating sites have the facility to receive his reply without revealing your email address: if not, register an email address which you use just for the dating service, then if you get someone hassling you, you can just delete it and the problem is gone. So you see, you can arrange to meet these men without ever revealing any details about yourself until you feel comfortable.

When I was 18 my greatest fear was not being able to make love when I was 25. I'm now in my mid 50s yet I haven't reached 25.

i'm 51 been alone now 11 years can't fine a good woman and yes i tryed the dateing site no luck so were are qall the good woman one that would rather have some one cuddle up to them and not want sex all the time yes sex is good but cuddling last longer

They are all married with Kids and the ones that arent are sleeping with their 21 yr old secretarys sorry!!!!
