I think a lot depends on what he likes and how much you want to spend. If money is no object and he is into sports try something like a pair of tickets to a sport event of his favorite sport. Not only are you going guy friendly you are also encouraging him to spend time with his buddies. That would cost you an average anywhere between 50.00 to 300.00. If you are trying to pinch the pennies then maybe you can get him something like some colonge (nautica, michael jordan, tommy hilfinger) if you want a touch of romance then buy him a new wallet check his out he has now and see if he he likes trifold or whatever and stick a picture of you in it. There is a lot of ideas out there just do what comes from your heart. My advice to you don't follow the watch idea from above. To really get a discent watch it will cost you a small fortune and its kinda like buying makeup for a woman you just have to get that one your own to be fully satisified. Not unless he already somewhat showed you what kind of watches he likes.
