I am going to restore my computer to it's original state using the restore disks. I need to save all my emails, folders and addresses to a external disk.
I also have a lot of emails and would like to save them all at once.
Using "save as" for each would take forever.

You should be able to use the Export function. Click on "FILE" then Export.

There should be options to export both messages and/or your address book.

Clive is correct...You will see just 1 file for each outlook express folder. That one file, believe it or not, contains all your emails in one of your folders, be it the inbox, outbox ,sent, draft etc The files are named inbox, sent draft, outbox etc so you will recognize them...just remember the path to where these files are stored & just plop them back in after restore.
So if you have say 4 folders in Outlook Express each with hundreds of emails ...you need only backup 4 files.

The file that you need to copy is outlook.pst. This contains all your emails and contacts including directory structures.
This is probably in
C:\Documents and Settings\Your_Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Good Luck
