If you do, do you like it? What grade level are you doing? I'm doing the one for students who are going to do the "G.C.E. 'O'" level examination next year. (8th grade). I've heard many people say it is the hardest curriculum in the world. Is that true? It sure feels like it.

I have looked at and rejected Singapore several times (even going so far as to buy the books only to sell them again). We've used Saxon ever since we started and it seems to click with both of my boys (if it ain't broke don't fix it, right?)

Sounds like Singapore has worked for you (if you're in 8th grade doing 10th grade work). Maybe you need to slow down for a bit. Or maybe you just need some additional practice. I know they sell books for just that, especially at the higher levels. This might be something you could look into.

GCE O level is grade 10 so you're in grade 9....?.... I'm in Secondary 2 (grade 8) in Singapore. Seems average to me....

My daughter has done the Singapore Math primary series - just finishing 6A and 6B now. I think it is a great program and teaches great problem solving. We haven't started the secondary level, but I have read many reviews. It is considered very good preparation for higher (college) level mathematics. Stick with it and you'll be ready for anything university throws at you!

I tried Singapore Math with my children a couple of years ago but we didn't like it. We are using Ray's Arithmetic (old school math with tons of story problems which is awesome) and although my children are only 8 and 12 we purchased Ray's Arithmetic CD with all 20 texts for only $59 and that includes elementary, intermediate and advanced maths including: Analytical Geometry, Differential and Intergral Calculus, Surveying and Navigation and Elements of Geometry.

You have to use though what works best for you. :-) However, if you're looking to save money...Ray's is the way to go.
