I have a 6 year old stepson who thinks anything that's not ice cream is evil. He loves this, and so do all the big people I know. All my friends use this to get there little darlings eating more vegetables - not that they know it.
I use the following sauce on his (wholemeal) pasta mixed with lean mince, quorn, diced chicken breast, as a dip for his chips (I give him thickly cut potato wedges brushed with olive oil instead, leave the skins on as this is where the goodness is). Use the sauce on top of home hade pizza bases (you can buy really easy bread mixes in any supermarket now that you only need to add some water to), let the kids make the bread base and decorate the pizza themselves, don't worry if they won't put vegetables on top, the sauce is packed with them, buy some really nice mozzerella or feta to top it off, or any cheese they will eat really.
You can also use this as a base for chilli or curry, just stir in a few spoonfuls of chilli or mild curry powder to the portion you are using, (add fromage frais if you want it mild and creamy), remember to serve with whole brown rice - they won't notice the difference when it's cooked properly.
I also use it as a soup, just add some more stock - serve as tomato soup with some wholemeal bread.
Top some bruchetta with it, use it cold instead of salsa ... you get the idea, it's quite versatile..
For the sauce - makes loads so freeze in small portion sized tubs, old marg tubs or pre made sauce tubs are ideal, Ikea have lots of cheap little tubs that are ideal.
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 onions
4 carrots
head of celery
4 garlic cloves - or to taste
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 green pepper
2 courgettes
3 tins chopped tomatoes
2 large dollops of tomato puree
1 pint of Passata or 2 cans V8 juice
about a pint of stock - I make it with Kallo organic veg but you can use chicken or anything you have, fresh is nice if you have it.
2 heaped tea spoons of Oregano or Italian Herbs (to taste, I like loads, kids normally don't though).
Lo Salt & Black Pepper to season
Some honey to sweeten
Some cornflour if you want it thickened.
Method
Chop everything - really roughly
Put the onion, garlic and olive oil in your largest pan at a low heat, add the herbs and the rest of the vegetables, add the tomatoes, tomato puree, passata or V8 juice and stock, bring to a simmer and leave slowly bubbling for about 20 mins (till the largest vegetables are tender).
Take of the heat - allow to cool a bit and then either liquidise the lot or pass it through a big seive, if the mix is too thick add some more stock or water.
Season to taste at this point, you might like to add a shake of worchester sauce - careful, most kids like bland food dependant on age - remember you can always season your little portions individually, so maybe play about with smaller portions first to see what they like best.
If you want the sauce thicker then you can put the lot back on the heat and thicken with a little cornflour and cold water.
Add a good squeeze of honey (the carrots are natuarally sweet so check if you need it first)- most shop bought sauces are full of sugar, honey is much better for them and you can gradually cut back on the amount to adjust their taste buds.
Thats it - YOU ARE a DOMESTIC GODESS, (or God), very simple and you have a very nutritious sauce that you can use as a base for loads of kids (and adult) dishes.

The most natural and healthy diet for humans is an omnivorous diet, and not a plant based diet, or a meat-based diet per se. The Paleo Diet can be very widely varied and omnivorous for the most part, but the most important thing is that it’s unprocessed, and avoids the worst foods that agriculture brought mankind… refined inflammatory vegetable oils, refined grains (some are worse than others), and sugar! Learn here https://tr.im/4Uncf
As you can see, the benefits of adopting a Paleo way of eating can be incredible! I’ve been eating 95% Paleo for the last 5-6 years and I’ve never felt better. I have dozens of friends that have adopted a more Paleo way of eating too, and have seen all sorts of health problems disappear, including eliminating acne and other skin problems, digestion problems, improving brain clarity, and of course, losing a lot of body fat!

-- Spaghetti Bolognaise. -- Cheesy Macaroni (add some finely diced bacon - yum!). -- Tacos - Lay out all the ingredients in separate bowls, heat the taco shells and let the kids make their own (do put a plastic drop cloth down though because this can get a bit messy!). -- Nachos - a couple of big platters for them to share. -- Soup - chicken noodle is always a favourite. Serve with some fresh, warm dinner rolls.

Hobo Stew
When you have a gang of children and teens, this is a fun
way of filling them up. Give each 1 a 1 lb. coffee can with their
name on it. Light up the old standby outdoor grill.
For each can you'll need:
2 large ground meat balls
1 med. tomato cubed
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cups water
1 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1 tbsp. chopped onion
Brown the meatballs in hot skillet.
Place them in a 1 lb. coffee can and add all of the
ingredients.
Cover top of can tightly with foil. Cook on grill for about
30 min.
Serve directly from the can.
Heat some rolls, biscuits, or bread sticks wrapped in foil
on the grill. (
Serve hot with butter.

One of our favourites is dead easy and quick to make.
Buy turkey mince and add chopped red onion. Mash it up and splat down into burger patties. Either grill or oven for approx 25 mins turning over halfway.
Peel and thinly chop sweet potato. Lightly oil a tin foil covered tin and lie them out. Oven for approx 25 mins also depending on how thick you cut it.
Cook some cous cous (approx 5 minutes in boiling water) and flavour with lemon and coriander or garlic depending on what they like.
Add some green beans or other veg they'll eat.
It's dead yummy!

Mince meat,
Sea salt,
Tomato puree (double concentrate),
Passata,
Fennel or celery,
Red kidney beans (tinned wash thoroughly)
Pre-cooked carrots,
oh, and pasta or even spaghetti.
Fry mince on medium till brown and pour off the excess fat (don't use oil, there should be enough fat in the mince; if it's burning it's too hot. Add the tomato puree. Leave for couple of minutes then add fennel or celery or both.
Add the red kidney beans
Add the passata and the red kidney beans.
Let it stew on low for a little bit and add the pre-cooked carrots.
Serve with pastashapes or spaghetti. Half hour to make, no washing up to speak off and my 3-year old loves it. And is easy to makes loads of it.
