Puppies just like to shred stuff and paper is very high on the list. I don't know why. Maybe get her one of those balls that you can put treats & her kibble in? I have one for my dog and I put his food in it (I never want to give him too many treats- they get fat that way). It'll keep him entertained for atleast an hour or more. You can find them at any pet store. I know KONG makes one, but I got one a little cheaper then theirs ($6 compared to $10)
As far as a bath, I recommend using a baby shampoo- it's very mild and won't dry out their skin like dog shampoo and it may be cheaper than buying something with "puppy shampoo" on the bottle. You should only bathe her like once every two weeks until she's a little older. Again, if you bathe her too much it will dry her skin out. Depending on the dog, I might not recommend a hair dryer- it can also over dry their skin. I would use a towel to wrap her up in until she's damp. Get a new towel and rub her dry. I used a hair dryer on my 2 year old dog and it dried his skin out, but your pup might not have as sensitive of skin. It's a learning process- my 2 year old Boston was the first time I ever owned this breed. Before him I grew up with Cairn Terriers (Totos). They didn't mind the hair dryer.
My female is 9 weeks old and only had one bath that the breeder gave her the day I picked her up.
For general cleaning, I use a baby wipe n my puppy. She never poops in her cage (thank god) but she sometimes steps in it outside. My 2 year old dog also plays rough with her and tends to "slobber" (more like lick her to death) on her. I find the baby wipes work great and they have scented ones too. I have lavender scented ones because I read that lavender is an irritant to fleas. Not that she has any, but I'd like to think I'm helping to prevent them.
Also, just keep the baby wipes handy. They're great for any age dog when it rains and they come in with muddy paws. Somehow my 2 year old dog knows I won't let him more than two feet in the door on a rainy day without wiping his paws down.
Good luck!

Train her to go outside, when she's bigger and older the paper will not be enough and YOU have a big stinky mess on your hand's. Crate her at night and take her out as soon as you get up in the morning. When she's loose in the apt. keep a keen eye on her for signs she need's to go. After a short time she'll go to the door and tell you what she want's. As far as a bath is concerned, give her one once a week and make it a pleasant experiance and she'll come to love bath time. Using a blow dryer is a very good idea, but be very, very careful it isn't too hot.Good luck and have a long and happy life with your pup

Did you use a flea treatment shampoo? Many flea and tick shampoos and rinses are not completely safe, especially when used on young puppies. The best way to really determine the cause of death is to have a vet preform a necropsy- sometimes it can be something completely unexpected. We lost a beautiful pup once- he just got sick and died. Had no idea how it could have happened, if he was bitten by a spider or a snake, etc. Turned out he got into an ancient bag of sheep manure and died of phosphate poisoning... poor lil guy...

Dragging the paper around is a very "puppy" thing to do. She'll outgrow it. Meanwhile maybe she could be distracted with a toy to play with instead of the paper.
Also, I agree with the answer about giving her a bath in your kitchen sink and using a blow dryer to help dry her. BE CAREFUL how hot you use it. If you don't have a hair dryer with a low setting, it might be safer to just wrap her up in a towel & dry her that way.

Wash her in the sink with a little baby shampoo. Puppies don't realize what they are doing. They are like toddlers who like to explore. They get into everything and I mean EVERYTHING. Oh, and don't get her used to paper training. That is the worst in trying to break in order for her to go outside. Start taking her outside NOW! You will be better off in the long run with her housebreaking.

Make it fun for your pooch! Let her bring her "bath toys" (only let her play with those toys at bath time) in and make sure there is only an inch or two of water until she gets comfortable with the idea. Also, when she behaves give her some yummy treats! Also, don't let her play with her potty! Who is in charge here? You. So make her see that.

if you want her to take a bath, then you should fill a bowl with warm water, and get a wash cloth to wipe her in with the water.
You can also get some of the bottles in stores that are shampoo and conditioner for dogs. That makes my dog smell way better!!!
Tell me if it helps!!

Try getting off your a$$ and walking her instead of letting her go on newspaper. Your whole house probably stinks.
