Especially in the deep south of America, all their representations of Jesus are as a white man with blue eyes (sometimes even blonde hair) but we know he was a middle eastern guy.

Do you think they try to forget, even deny that he was an arab?

Jesus was Semitic, which means he was Caucasian technically. I have never met anyone that doesn't know this, and I live in the South. As far as the paintings of him, that depiction was created by an artist in Europe.

An Arab is a person who is from or whose ancestry is traced back to the Arabian peninsula. Jesus was from the area where Israel is. The people that lived there before Arab invasions were Mediterranean in appearance. So, Jesus probably looked a lot like a person from southern Greece or Italy. You sound like a fool when you make idiotic statements like that in order to ridicule other people.

Not only that; alas! They also think their version of English translations are correct; whereas they(the most) are not even close to the mid-eastern meanings of the Names, words and meanings as understood there. Their Jesus spoke English, they presume; so mylord uttered the word:God and not Allah, which they enjoy making fun of ! They also believe that no Bible exists in Arabic language, where the glorious Name--Allah is used for thousands of time. They may loose their senses if told that the other names, sacred to Muslims, also existed in the yet available Original texts on parchments. And this information is all provided by Christian Biblical scholarship, not due to any 'research' made by the lowly-held Muslim scholars. What can you do when they listen more to their preachers and not to their scholars. We can only pray for the WASPs...(Western Anglo Saxon Protestants).

I'm with you when it comes to finding modern art depicting Jesus as a white man with blue eyes. He most certainly looked more lLIKE an Arab than a typical blue-eyed Swede. If you take a look at most of the ethnic Jews living in Israel, you'll notice a distinct difference between them and their Arabic neighbors, such as Arabs, Egyptians, Syrians, Jordanians, Turks, etc. Their skin in noticeably lighter, like a European, but their facial characteristics are somewhat similar to Arabic stock. This suggests a differentiation between ethnic Arabs and ethnic Jews. Perhaps that's why you see so many depictions of Jesus with light skin...Jews have lighter skin, and Jesus was born to a Jewish woman.

Here's a tissue for your internet issue..."WHAAAA"

1.) Jesus was a descendant of David, who was, in turn, a descendant of Judah, who was in turn, a descendant of Jacob (Israel), who was in turn, a descendant of Isaac. Arabs' descent comes, not from Isaac, but rather, his brother, Ishmael. Jesus was not an Arab. He was a Jew, an Israelite, a Hebrew.

2.) I have yet to see a Christian who honestly thinks Jesus was white.

3.) Your lack of knowledge shames you, and you poorly represent atheists to Christians. What you've just said is akin to me saying "Do you western atheists hate the fact that Darwin is a Caucasian, especially when you look at photographs that give him albino-white skin with light eyes, but we know he was a Caucasian guy". It doesn't make sense, and is rather ignorant, isn't it?

4.) Of course we deny that he was Arabic. That's because his mother wasn't Arabic, King David wasn't Arabic, Judah wasn't Arabic (Hey! Judah is where is JEWS get their name from), Jacob (AKA Israel) wasn't Arabic, and Isaac wasn't Arabic. They were all *HEBREWS*. Ishmael is where Arabs trace their lineage.

Can I get a sane atheist to answer me one thing : Where do these nonsensical ideas spawn from? It'd be a lot better if these falsehoods would be put to an end... I mean... it's not like Creationists use the "there were human footprints found alongside dinosaur tracks" line anymore, now that they were proven to be mistaken... yet I still see the line of "Jesus was an Arab" popping up.

What makes you think that Western Christians hate Jesus? If you say that we hate the fact that he was an Arab, then you mean that we hate him period. Why would we hate our Messiah? I realize that there are people who get a bit confused about things, that forget that Jesus came as a Jew, yet they hate Jews and preach against them in church, and that there are people who think that Jesus is White, Anglo-Saxon and Protestant. But this is a small minority who have low IQ's and little education, and cannot think for themselves, so they let an uneducated pastor do their thinking for them.

People see images of Jesus everyday and they don't get that he was an arab because that was the way people have grown up to know Jesus. When people mention Jesus is an Arab people deny it as they disrespect the Middle Eastern Countries.

i could no longer have placed it extra useful myself!!! you're so thoroughly remarkable that it is unhappy. I incredibly have been puttering around right here on R&S for particularly a at the same time as now, and that i think of my hair is permantly fried. i individually have not contributed plenty because of the fact of all the hateful language - and various that has been from "Christians". i'm so happy that there are others who consider me. We, as believers, could gain that if Jesus have been right here interior the flesh (lower back), that the very those that we, as "Christians", are condemning by utilising our hateful language could be the very those that he might % to be with, and extra importantly, to love. I wish extra people could desire to work out that. thank you for being one. On behalf of Christians obtainable who are not that way, i % to ask for forgiveness to the non-believers for the dislike that has been sent your way. It does no longer come from all believers.

Jesus was who he was, a jew that lived 2000 years ago.
What he was depicted looking like is based on the shroud of Turin and statues of Apollo.
Middle Eastern people are very mixed anyway, so who cares.

The correct expression would be "semitic" or semite". Arabs are, strictly speaking only th epeople from the Arabian Peninsula.

And no, they couln't care less. In the mind of most Christians he'd conform to their own ideal of beauty.

Humans tend to form their gods after their own image...
