Dogs aren't suppose to wear fur. A diamond studded collar, but not a fur.

Dogs shed their coat once or twice a year depending on the various breeds, some breeds shed more some less. Also long haired breeds tend to shed fur due to breaking off of hair etc (same as human head). If patches appear on the skin then the dog needs treatment otherwise it absolutely normal.

shedding? mange? sick? You did not give any info. Take the dog to a vet for a check up and make sure you are feeding good food. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. during the summer months your dog will shed, this allows the body to breathe, and it will keep it cool. shedding also sets on a new coat for them later when it starts to get cooler. is your dog losing all of its fur? if so it may have red mange and you need to take it to a vet for treatment. you could dip it in some over the counter dip, but it would be best to visit the vet.

Same thing happened to my dog. It's either a food allergy or there is some kind of weed in the air that he is allergic to. Hope your dog feel better.

As the weather changes so does your dogs body temperature...
in order to keep cool, the hair on you dog falls off to allow its body to cool down.
This also why they pant alot, when their tongue hangs out of their mouth the cool air circulates their tounge and cools the blood in it... then, as their blood circulates around their body and their tongue keeps hanging out they acheive a cooler body. Basically its pretty much the same as they're body. Thats why they lose their hair!
:) hope this helps

Dandruf or dry skin maybe? Try feeding him fish oil for doggies and switch his food to science diet. Also, try combing him more.
