They need all the followers they can get. Therefore, couples using contraception and gay people are a negative resourse to their cause.

There's nothing in the Bible against contraception. In fact, it's God's will that we plan our families and act responsibly.
Abortion can be viewed as murder, which is a sin.
However.....even Christians are sinful people, sin doesn't go away at conversion. Anyone contemplating abortion has already sinned, and the conception of the child might also have been sinful.
And then, we have to consider, will there be more misery, more unhappiness, more suffering if the child is born? Will it have a pleasant life?
Now, I'm not supporting abortion. But I'm not just dismissing it either. You need to weigh up all the pros and cons and discuss the matter with an experienced, non-judgemental Christian counsellor.

contraception I cant' comment on, I'm not a Catholic. As for abortion, it's not any one scripture. We believe God is the creator of life, He doesn't make anyone by mistake even if the pregnancy is unplanned and unwelcome, and only He has the right to take that life away. Try these verses
jeremiah 1: 1-5
psalm 139:1-24

Abortion is wrong because God clearly shows in his word that life begins at conception
God views the life of a child as precious even during the very early stages of development after conception
Look at PSALM. 139:13-16:
EXODUS. 21:22, 23: (The original Hebrew text, refers to a fatal accident to either mother or child.)
There is nothing in the Scriptures that says contraception is wrong as long as the method used prevents the actual fertilization of the egg.
But any contraceptive method that gets rid of the fertilized egg would be wrong in God's eyes.
(Look at the EXODUS Scripture above)

The part about abortion you can find in" Exodus 21:22,23 Genesis 9:6 1John 3:15 Exodus 20:13
The part about contraception, nowhere to be found, made up by man, it is no part of God's will, He purposed for the earth to be inhabited

The usual assumption is "Thou shalt not murder". (The more correct translation, not the ridiculous "kill" whoch would starve us all to death!). However, in the early stages of pregnancy, the embryo os just a collection of cells - NOT a person. According to some beliefs, the soul only joins the body at the point of birth.
In any case, the bible does not specifically forbid (or even mention) abortion.

The concept is that any abortion of an unborn baby is killing and one of the ten commandments says "thou shalt not kill" Even on the pill an embryo may form which might be considered life. Methods such as condoms shouldn't be a problem.
All depends on how you define life. I am not here to moralize.

Abortion : God said in Gen 9:6 "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made him".
Also in Exo. 20:13 "Thou shall not kill"
For those using contraceptives, i think you really have to time yourselves instead to avoid killing

Thou shalt not kill. The commandments.
Contraception is different. this is a doctrine that comes out of interfering with gods will.
Reporting what I was told at school ... not what I necessarily believe.
