Your dog is 10 contrary to what people say dogs do not have there own calendar. I have had three dogs one died at 8 the one at 11 and the last at 12 these are the years we all use because there are no others.

Well I heard the new way of counting it is the first 2 years=20 years the add 4 years 4 every year after. so thats somethin like 44

I have always known it to be 7 dogs years for 1 human year, one of our old vets said it was 5 years for every 1 human year, mind you he was very old himself so he might have got confused, my dog is 77 and she is the best pensioner on earth.

dog years is actually an urban myth different dogs have different life expectancies generally smaller dogs live longer. Older dogs tend to suffer from breathing difficulties the boxer/bulldog some have bone problems great danes greyhounds st bernards. Like people they will die at different ages.
