Don't be ridiculous, a balanced diet is, coincidentely, a balance of various foods, believe it or not your body needs sugar, salt, fat etc... to function

Are we becoming a little obsessive here?

Porridge? Really good start to the day for breakfast. Nice low GI, so sustained energy release to keeping your blood sugar levels steady for the optimum period.

Adding "a little" honey and sugar? Oh puh-lease!! If you are feeling enslaved to a regime that throws you into a panic when you add "a little" honey and sugar, I think your attitude to what's healthy and good for your could use a serious review. It's really not healthy to worry about a little honey and sugar once in a while. A LOT, REGULARLY, would be an issue.

There is enough reliable literature and information about sound nutrition and healthy living available for you to be able to make informed choices about how to eat well. Honey, by the way has some very positive health benefits, (although it should not be given to babies or to people whose immune systems are compromised.) I am quite interested why you added honey AND sugar, I confess.

Hurry up and finish the porridge before the Three Bears come home. :-)

Seriously, a little honey or sugar won't ruin your balanced diet. Moderation is the key. Do a Google search for Dr. Gott's "no flour, no sugar diet." This should be an easy way to cut calories and keep your diet in good shape.

hm...i wouldn't eat the porridge cuz it's carbs, the honey is fine, it has special antioxidants that are good for you, and for sugar, i would have used an artifical sweetener.

oh..and btw...watching what you eat is being on a diet and vice versa. people make the word "diet" seem so bad when in reality, it's just a way of saying that you're careful about what you eat...

A little of what you fancy never did anyone any harm. Personally I like porridge with condensed milk on it - mmm so sweet and milky.

No, but why honey and sugar? If you don't want to add sugars because you want to eat sensibly then use a sweetener instead

Cut something out of your next meal and walk 1 mile further today. You'll feel better and less guilty.
