I have two german shepherds and one siberian husky. Nobody steps inside without making sure a couple of times that nothing is going to happen, and my dogs aren't going to do anything to them at all. They just want to sniff. My siberian husky is NOT a watch dog, and siberians are not known for being watch dogs. They aren't barkers and everyone is a friend or someone to play with - it's their nature. However, some people find them scary because they look like wolves. My female shepherd is the one that barks the most, but the male is probably the most intimidating at 103 lbs.

Yes, I have a Siberian Husky and a Lab and we went to the races one day and had a close friend let them out, we (including the dogs) know him quite well for a few years. they would not let him in the front door or the back door to let them out, they barked growled and showing teeth. these dogs are sweet and loving to strangers who enter the house when we are home but are very vocal when it comes to others trying or walking up to the door.

My T-Bone actually patrols the house at night. I really feel safe with him around, even when my husband is deployed.
