There are 2 meanings for spirit; first: a spirit is an invisible creature or being with unmeasurable powers. God is a Spirit and so is the devil. But only Jehovah god is almighty. Spirit is also the energy or strenght that holds a human body, therefore without it no human could live, such as the bulb with electricity it will light with it cuz without it would be dead. But that kind of spirit is not independent from our bodies or has live of its own like a lot of people think. The enemy of God Satan the leader evil spirit (being) uses many ways to distract people from the truth like saying lies such as there is live after dead, or that if we die our ghost or our spirit will come back and hunt you; when actually is satan who is doing so, but the Bible says what actually happens after dead Ecles 9:5 ..That's what you have to believe; God's word...not the devil.

A spirit is what is inside each person.

It is what causes you to have emotions, and to have morals, and also the thing which makes us have a life after death. Something which means there is justice.
If you are good or bad, there is a place where your actions will be seen to.

I believe that your soul is a part of God. I mean, that's what my religion tells me. God created our bodies, and gave us a part of his soul. That is your spirit.

A ghost is just what some people believe in. I don't believe in it. It is like an evil spirit.
I believe spirits cannot have any contact with us in this world, except for in our dreams, when our spirits leave our bodies.
That sounds scary!

And the devil is just a completely different thing.
As my religion tells me, the devil was one of God's creations. In fact, he was an angel. But he disobeyed God, and became the devil. He promised God that he would do whatever he could, to put humans on the wrong path- The one that would lead them to hell.
And that is what he's doing at the moment.

I hope that answers your question.

A ghost is an echo of a past event.

A devil is a spiritual being who likes to decieve and torment.

I think you mean spirit as in 'a' spirit, not 'the' spirit. There is the spirit side of people... and then a spirit, as a spiritual being, could be good or evil.

Oh goddess some peoples children:
A ghost is a person who died and can't move on; better known as a lost soul
A devil an entity full hatred, darkness and all that is bad in the world and hates mortal humans; the sons and daughters of the flesh and desire to rid the earth of our kind of jealousy I would guess.
Spirit is in everything including metal, did you know by twisting metal and forming it you are a. killing the spirit within. or B. twisting it to your ugly desires. Spirit is every where.

I hope you like the truth that not many can see.

Hi!

Both a ghost and a devil are "spirit beings" or simply "spirits".Why?

Because they can do things that only spirit beings can do e.g. go through walls, fly overseas within a second.

Also angels of God are 'spirit' beings or "spirit".

Devil:- in Elizabethan English(e.g. thou art..), "devil" is not only referred to as Satan only, but also to all spirit beings which are under Satan's authority. Some people call them "demons"

Satan is sometimes called "the Devil" or simply "The Enemy".

Ghost: - is suppose to be a soul and spirit combined of a dead person...but that is not necessarily true, A ghost in most cases is a "a demon" that has taken the image of a dead person...

Remember the bible says "Satan is transformed into an angel of light".Satan can disguise as an angel of light...how much more can it be, when it comes to taking the image of a "dead person"

Sometimes, what we call "ghost" is actually a witch who left his/her body to go do mischief!Witches can do that...I am not talking about this playful "Wicca" stuff, that witchcraft is not serious...I am talking about real witches who can do things that old witches can do,real witches who serve Satan and actually meet under the sea, leave their bodies and do spiritual things...

ALL THESE THINGS ARE SUBDUED BY THE POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS!

A "ghost" is an alleged non-corporeal manifestation of a dead person (or, sometimes, an animal or a vehicle).

The "devil" is the name given to a supernatural entity, who, in most Western religions, is the central embodiment of evil.

The "spirit" word comes from the Latin spiritus, meaning "breath" , but also "soul, courage, vigor".

In Christian theology, the Spirit is also used to describe God, or aspects therof as in Holy Spirit, referring to a Triune God (Trinity):

nicely, i assume i will upload my 2 cents to the mixture: a ghost is the earthbound soul of somebody who, for despite reason, is left on the earth. Be it for unfinished corporation, or violent loss of life, or loss of understanding they're ineffective. to my expertise (and yup, i will probable be shown incorrect, yet it quite is high quality, a minimum of i will learn something new), a spirit is a being it quite is stated as up, the two human or different, for the desires of somebody living. Devils? i don't probable have faith in devils, in keeping with se, yet demons are beings that exist in nation-states close to ours, and choose directly to work out harm come to us. Witches are human beings, male and lady, who honor nature and the cycles of the moon. they're intune with the Earth, and the energies that encompass all living issues. as with any paths, there are undesirable human beings and robust people who call themselves witches.
