Please see the webpage for more details on Sodium in diet.
For individuals who are sodium-sensitive, an increased intake of sodium may contribute to high blood pressure. Therefore, people with high blood pressure may be advised to reduce sodium intake; all patients with high blood pressure should discuss this issue with their doctor. Reducing sodium can also reduce the side effects from certain prescription medications.
In addition, sodium may lead to fluid retention in patients with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or kidney disease. These patients should be on strict sodium-restricted diets as prescribed by their doctor.

High Sodium intake could contribute to hypertension with all its potential consequences (cardio-vascular diseases, including strokes...).
Moderate sodium diet is a good general suggestion.
As previously written, high sodium may also lead to fluid retention in patients with a pre-existing condition such as congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or some kidney diseases. These patients should be on strict sodium-restricted diets as prescribed by their doctor.

But there is NO risk of:
- cellulite (Sodium is NOT resposible for cellulite or obesity)
- kidney infection
- kidney disease (but uncontrolled hypertension can result in renal failure)
- kidney stone

I'm not a doctor so I'm not here to give an accurate answer or advice but I think high salt intake must be harmful to our kidneys. I wonder if anyone could verify this.

Regular table salt is pure sodium with all the nutrients extracted and the discard, the sodium, is packaged and sold to unsuspecting people as table salt. Raw sea salt is what your body actually needs. It has all the 97 known minerals in it and will actually cut down your craving for sodium as the minerals are replaced that the pure sodium leached out.
