Me and my ex broke up a year and a half ago when I moved to college because he could not handle the long distance. We havve continued to stay friends and he calls me about every two weeks adn we see each other now and then. This has been going on for a year and a half now and I realized recently that it needs to stop because its holding me back from other relationships. He tells me he likes to talk to me, I still mean a lot to him....etc. So I decided that I wouldn't answer his calls and he kept on calling and calling. When I did answer he tried to say he just wanted to see how I was doing..yadda yadda yadda. Doesn't it mean something though that he called 3 days in a row after I didnt' return his calls? Does he still have an attachment for me and if so why doesn't he want to be with me?

All that you have in the above is about you got him fried and it's hurting the hell out of him to not be with you,(kinda like hyper ventilating to death) but those last (8) words?, why isn't he there with you is what You should be asking instead of, why doesn't he want to be with me?. see you have him in your hand as the old feeling of love goes , now just set it in motion, can't you bat your eyes a lil' or kinda drop a hint that will be by the old oak tree. that's all there is to it. not all guys do everything right and most guys only want one thing right so the odds are in you favor that you can reach impasses and know how to help others through controll the love life everyday is deep stuff, has true grit

I think he's seeing if you're still available or perhaps he needs an ego boost. Sadly some men get a kick out of convincing women that they care for them and use this as a psychological lever to have them depending on them. It seems he's got one on you if his presence alone prevents you from getting involved in a new relationship.
If it's over, treat it as though it's over. Get it out of the way, tell him, have a cry if you must, then go out and enjoy yourself because I bet that's what he's doing.

Honestly, I think he is checking up on you. Probably because he hasn't found anyone yet so he wants to make sure you are unhappy aswell. I would keep ignoring him, even though it is the hardest thing to do. If he wants you back then he needs to prove it and not by just calling.

You where torn apart by distance sugar, thats hard for any guy he still loves you and will take him a while to get over it or he is trying to keep you back sweety tell him to stop calling you you aint his property anymore. go on with life.

well...i think he is attached to the image of a "girlfriend" it just happens that it is you at the moment. believe me hun if he were to feel anything more for you, he would do something else than just calling you and wanting to talk to you. so you just don`t answer his calls and pretend like he never existed and i am sure that he`ll give up on you one day..
