I have been experiencing a dull pain in my abdomen from belly button up. I have been very stressed lately. The pain is hard to explain like my muscles just dont want to let up. Very tender to push on, also have been having cramping, could this be due to stress? Also been constipated and not going like i use to. Could i have strained something in my stomach while trying to "go" and does this sound like pain caused by stress?

I have been having bad stomach pains, and I got diagnosed today with a stomach ulcer. (caused by psychological stress). However, it hasn't really affected me going to the toilet although that could be something completely different. My best friend suffers from irritible bowel syndrome and has symptoms like yours so it's possible it's that as well. Be careful if it's a stomach ulcer because if it starts to bleed, you're in strife. Why don't you look both illnesses up and see if you have any other symptoms of them?

Yes, you shouldn't have to strain to go to the bathroom(drink water and eat fruit), also the muscle tension in your stomach sounds like stress pains. It is just where the stomach contracts from tension. I had them when a family member really close to me died and was on muscle relaxers for about 3 weeks.

Any abdominal pain or discomfort should be checked by a doctor. It could be a simple thing like wind, reflux or heartburn. A doctor can order tests to rule out other things such as ulcers. See your doctor and put yourself at ease. Get the right treatment which you can't do on the net. Good health is not to be sneezed at.
