NO! While living in Florida, my doctor was schooled in many things. He was a surgeon, and M.D, and a Chiropractor. He was a D.O, and believed in looking at the body as a whole for problems. I cried when he closed his shop, and moved to the state of Washington. I had a severe back problem from the time I was very young, so he took care of me when I was there. I could go see him and couldn't walk, but would leave there on my own two feet in no pain! If you don't ever listen to anyone, listen to me!! A good one is worth their weight in gold. I'm sure like all doctors, there are good ones and bad ones. If you can find a good one that knows how to work on your problems, you too will be convinced as I am. People can call them quacks if they want to, and even have websites to back it up with, but all I can do is tell you what one did for me. I would meet anyone, anywhere, anytime, and take a polygraph test to back up what I am saying about them. Why would millions of people lie about it? If Chinese can do surgery without using anything to put the patient under, then I got to believe the doctors are the quacks here! Good Luck!

No they are not quacks. If you get a good chinese chiropractor they can do wonders with your aching joints, back etc.
Yes a bad fellow can cause damage but then so can a lot of our so called "good" Doctors who are so dependent on multi Tests that they can be just considered as mechanics, since the diagnosis has been done by the tests. Also all the "doctors get paid by the Labs for refering cases to them. So its a nice cosy relationship.
The safer bet to get your aches and pains relieved is to approach a Pranic Healer or Rekhi healer, which are non invasive holistic healing techniques. They are very good, but treament will have to be taken for long periods. In India we can do a beginners or advanced course and heal ourselves too. And you can continue any other form of treatment alongside this.
Try it out but Chiropractors are also good.

If the chiropractor is a good one, they can do wonders with realignment on you body and reduce inflammed muscles. However, the chiropractic industry is not as heavily regulated as they should be, thus increasing the probability for malpractice.

i think some chiropractors can be helpful treating some conditions. i think the quacks are the ones without proper training and/or claim to be able to cure every imaginable disorder simply by adjusting someone's spine.

As with anyone in the healing professions, you're going to find some bad ones.

I've gone to them a lot for back problems, and have had great success.

They have a minimum of seven years of college education. More info about what they study: http://www.drbagnell.com/Page2.html

Not a bit! Chiropractry is sometimes appropriate treatment for musculo-skeletal disorders. The AMA and most insurance companies recognize Chiropracty as a viable alternative treatment.

The medical docs can't fix everything, you know.

I actually swear by them, i go twice a month, about 4 years ago i was in a horrible car wreck which completely messed my alignment up, they know more about your back than you think, my chiroprator has become so familiar with my body that he knows just where im out and i feel 100% better when i leave there.

Yes it's quackery. There's no independently verified medical data to support the theory behind chiropractic and their 'subluxations'. They are indeed expensive - and rather risky - masseurs.

i know people who got injured as well.
i think some techniques may be helpful, but overall, we all have to be careful when going to them (as to which one and for what reason). plus what mkes it worse, is that some chiropractors aren't very good to begin with.

Chiropractors are very good. I have used them myself. They can help rid you of back pain.
