L.A.P.D. has the best S.W.A.T. (special weapons and tactics) team in the world. That's why the F.B.I. and Secret Serivice train with them. Look it up, it's true. The movie "S.W.A.T." makes reference to that fact.

In answer to your additional question, it depends in what context you are referring to. When you ask, "who is better?", I ask, "better at what"? Every organization has their strong points and things they do well, possibly better than others.

It is sort of an unfair comparison; S.W.A.T. takes care of cities and the Secret Service takes care of government personnel, where as the N.S.A., C.I.A., and the F.B.I., take care of the entire U.S. as well as matters outside of the U.S.

As far as training goes, I'd give that one to the C.I.A. An individual C.I.A. field agent, is a very smart and resourceful person. Not to knock the other organizations, at all, but a C.I.A. operative is extremely, intelligent and cunning, as well as trained in a multitude of things; ranging from anti-terroism tactics, to espionage, combat training (weapons, hand to hand, tactics), psychology, and the list goes on.

The N.S.A. would be a close second, for training, in my oppinion. As far as resources, the N.S.A. takes them all out. Just to give you and idea, how massive it is, it's 9 times the size of the C.I.A.!

The F.B.I. are simply a large investigative bureau. Hence the name (Federal Bureau of Investigations). They're a very large police force, essentially, with out the patrolling, focusing on investigations that lead to the capture and incarceration of criminals. Now, since they train with the L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T., it wouldn't make sense to say they're better than L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T. team. However, it would be fair to say that their tactics are equal as far as taking down "the bad guys". The F.B.I. has more resources, obviously.

The Secret Service was specifically established to protect government personnel. That's what they do and that's what they do best. They train tirelessly, dreaming up every possible scenario and problem that could occur, that may put a government official in danger. More accurately, they train to protect the President. Not every government official will have the same protection as the President but they will have agents that are trained to Protect the world's most powerful man.

So, all these agencies do different jobs but do simular work. To say, "who is better?", the comparison doesn't really make sense. If you want to compare, "who would kick who's ***?", it depends on the agent, but in general, I'd give the C.I.A. agent the advantage.

There are various ways to measure who the best is. There is a competition in Orlando, Florida each year called the SWAT Roundup. It is like the Olympics for cops. The Lakeland Police had one it many times.

They have a national SWAT competition every year & it's not LA or NY or Dallas who wins..its a city in Central Florida called Lakeland who i think won the last 3 years in a row

FBI's HRT ranks right up there also. LAPD is really good though, they are one of the original, kinda helped write the book. Lot's of highly skilled, dedicated officers on teams all over the country. It's a hard thing to categorize.
