Because he is crazy and also believes that rock music is the work of the devil. Count on the Pope to keep it real like it's the twelfth century. Crusades anytime soon?

Don't worry about it. It's actually too bad that different Popes keep saying things that make themselves irrelevant. Just last week the current Pope said that Canadian society was too tolerant. He was referring to same-sex marriages and abortion. Can you imagine a religious leader complaining that a society is too tolerant? As if tolerance was something bad. It is really sad. The previous Pope had criticised Buddhism on a visit to Sri Lanka (a predominantly Buddhist country). So, don't worry too much about what the popes say, nobody really pays much attention to them anyway, not even Catholics.

You shud have quoted the details where and when pope said this.

However if he said this, it may be mainly due to the fact that Yoga, though it exists in hinduism, is for all humans irrespective of religion, caste and creed.

Yoga opens the way for higher knowledge, and takes us to the highest possible spiritual progress, that is Enlightenment

Now why would Pope like his people to know th truth ? It will badly affect his business of fooling people

I am not sure in what context the Pope said it, but if he did, it's pure ignorance speaking....
I think he should make sure that he knows well enough about a topic before making a comment about it, otherwise it's just a waste of his & everyone else's time.

You misheard. He said *Yoda* is evil.

(You mean you haven't noticed how much the Pope looks like Emperor Palpatine?)

I don't remember a time when anyone said exercise was "evil". Please, a reference if you will, God forbid, we have a nation of fit, healthy people! That would be horrible, since stretching is apparantly a sin now!!! Damn you yoga instructors! How dare you try to improve our lives! Let us wallow in our lard, sinless and perfect.... oh , wait, okay not perfect but... oh damn. Yep, yoga is our true enemy. Here we thought it was Osama, but it was a yoga teacher we were after all along!!!!

Nobody cares about your Pope questions Larry. Try a different topic.

All paths to enlightenment are potentially evil. Especially if
one doesn't believe in evil. One cannot open up to good
spiritual things without opening up to bad things as well. We
need to build a shield of protection. Like imagining a light all
around us, and saying something out loud, like "Holy Spirit,
guide and protect me."
