Surely if they did this it would relieve the boredom. Perhaps start a league or something.

Football? Frisbee? They hardly have enough food to eat. Where in the world do you think they are going to get a football or frisbee?

Right now, refugees in Darfur are only receiving 1,050 calories a day because there is not enough money to buy the food needed to supply the recommended 2,100. That is less than one fast food meal. So forgive them, if they do not seem to be in the mood or have the energy to chuck around a frisbee or football. They need to conserve the little energy they have from the meager diet to seek firewood to cook the little food they get or flee from raping janjewee.

I recommend that you go to www.unhcr.org to read more about the plight of refugees so that you can better understand why they do not play football or frisbee.

They'd rather make it look worse than it really is. Similar to the Sally Struthers commercials about kids in poverty areas, way back when (?). With her broken, whiny voice and teary (fake) demeanor. Sure those kids were poor and needed help, but, come on, that tactic is so lame! Those countires have been like that,~ like,~ forever. There will always be some countries poorer than others. We give foreign aid. We can't 'save the world'. Much of that money was to build multi-million dollar homes and lavish lives for the organizers. Sally probably got a nice chunk, too. I'm all for helping people but not through my taxes to illegal people in my country sucking up federal tax paid services. Illegal entry is uncontrolled, so therefore my tax dollars are being spent to support an uncontrolled cause. NOT RIGHT!!

I think refugees should stop complaining and make better of a bad situation. What about darts or snooker? Most of them don't have to work and the UN give them free food why don't they do something more constructive with their time? They could open a craft centre and start attracting tourists. Perhaps if these people spent less time running away from their problems and addressed them they might have a better life.

Actually,I've seen lots of footage of children in refuge camps playing soccer.I'm sure they play a lot of games. Just because they're in a refuge camp, doesn't mean they stop being kids.Kids have to play;it's in their nature, and it's a good thing, because it probably helps them to forget,if only for an hour or two, about the hardships they are having to endure.

I saw footage last Sunday night of Camp Refoogee in Africa. They had a talent competition and camp Olympics!

What? I see them doing it all the time! But it's a bit hard to play football when you've just walked 800 miles and had nothing to eat for 4 days, isn't it?

I suspect the media has an angle it wants to portray, don't you?

The kids played even in the Jewish Death camps, to a point, as I understand it.

Almost invariably (?if there is such a thing!) the media only let you see the bits they've 'engineered' - you wouldn't start feeling sorry (and therefore start to chuck money at them) if you thought they might be enjoying themselves, would you.

True, mind you I've been to festival sites worse than those refugees camps.
