I am 30 yrs old female. I am getting giddiness frequently. Most of the times I am getting this giddiness when I sit in a place for long time and while trying to get up I am having this problem. the giddiness lasts for 2-3 minutes. This happens 5 to 6 times in a day. That time I couldn't hear anything properly. But I could see everything. I feel like the pain starts from my back. I used feel something like mild current shocking at my back then neck pain then giddiness. After I get the giddiness at the back ( where the pain started) I used feel some thing cold.

I consulted neuro and ENT for this. THey asked me to take brain scan and thyroid test. everything was normal. they prescribed Vertin tablets. But there is of no use.

Can someone guide me to which doctor I need to consult and what type of problem is this?

Thanks in advance

it may be due to degeneration of neck bones (cervical vertebra) that causes vertigo.

Dont worry.

Do static cervical exercises for 1 month, If it is not improving do the Canolith Manover test.

u will get the etiology.

I hope u should be on some medicaions for that

Gud luck

your giddiness is related to posture change this happens with

1.Orthostatic hypotension(cause could be low Hb, drugs, autonomic dysfunction)
2.from the duration of your giddiness it could be benign paroxysmal positional BPPV
3.taking in account the neck pain the giddiness it could be due to
cervical spondylosis(so may require a ortho consult)
as well as Hb ,blood sugar as well as measurement of blood pressure in supine(lying down) sitting and standing position
see if there is any change in b.p in these positions.

Viral infections of internal ear called Viral vestibulitis can give rise to such symptom complex. This is a self limiting disease and lasts for varying periods before spontaneously disappearing. If you are not anemic nor hypertensive, take Vitamin C in the form of tablets. 0.5gms a day for 14 days.
