Vertigo, or dizziness, is most often caused by an inner ear infection. The inner ear infection does not always cause pain, so you may not even know you have it. If the vertigo comes when you stand up or turn your head quickly, it is most likely from an inner ear infection. Swimmers often have this problem (water is trapped in the ear canal and builds up with nasty germs, ew) but it can even happen when you are in the bath or shower. You can combat this by getting a kit to flush out the ear with warm water and getting ear drops from the pharmacist. If you have never been diagnosed before you should have a doctor take a quick look in your ear. They can even flush it for you. After this initial visit, you should be able to recognize the symptoms for yourself and take care of it with drops.
Head colds and sinusitis can cause vertigo as well. Taking some OTC medication to clear up a stuffy head will help with the dizziness.
If you have constant vertigo (standing, lying down, all day) you should probably see a doctor or eye doctor to rule out any serious problems, or if you need glasses or a stronger pair if you wear them already.

Vertigo is not really a disease, in fact it is actually a symptom. Here are the possible causes of Vertigo: stress, recent viral illness/ bacterial infection, sudden drop in blood pressure, and dehydration. And here are some possible solutions to vertigo: drink lots of water, get adequate sleep - anywhere between 8 to 10 hours of sleep, try to adapt a more nutritious diet - with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Occasionally, test your blood pressure, either at the doctor or with the arm pressure pump.
normal blood pressure in the adult range is anywhere between 100-119mmHg/ 60-80mmHg

I also suffer from vertigo.
Another possible cause is the inability to compel yourself to
deal with it.(lack of intestinal fortitude)
Every now & then I force myself to
a)Climb on a roof and work there.
b)Absale or bungie jump.
c)Go on rides eg Tower of Terror.
Each time I'm just as scared as I ever was but I have shown my brain who is boss.

Vertigo is a symptom, not a disease. It needs to be carefully analyzed; there are different kinds with different associated other symptoms depending on the disease that causes it...
You really need to see your doctor.

Lack of blood to the brain, also inner ear infections. Go to your doctor about your ear, and if you feel like you're going to pass out, sit down and put your feet and legs up above heart level. That will help blood flow to your brain.
