A lot, if you bartend in the right place. At my bar we hired a male bartender that worked Saturday nights. We then made that night Ladies Night. It brought in a lot of business and he made great money.

Unfortunately, they don't teach you everything you need to know at bartenders school. You have to be a dad, doctor, therapist, cop, and babysitter. Just remember to talk to your customers, and really connect with them. If they see that you are sincere and love your job, they will tip good. Always make them think that you are on their side, even when your not. Good luck. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Expect reasonable tips nothing you are going to write home to mom about. My friend is a bartender only for 4 hours a day at a reasonably decent bar and he brings home about $400 a week. good part time job. Let us know how you do?

It really depends on where you work, how hot the place is. A neighborhood dive on Tuesday? Prolly 70 bucks. A nightclub in the middle of the city, the hippest place in town, on a Friday? 300, easy.

Bartending can be good money

I don't know exact numbers, but I would imagine a decent amount depending on your charm, agility, joke telling and making people feel at ease. Remember people, their stories and their drinks. I know someone who knows almost all of the guys he has served during his career. If you have that then I would imagine you could make well over 60 thousand a year ( in a larger city such as New York)
