I'm interesting in buying the Rosetta Stone language software. I've heard good things about it, even from a few questions asked here on Yahoo Answers, and I was wanting to know if anyone had any experience using it. I would really like to learn German, but I figure Spanish is more practical, especially considering I'm in school to be an elementary teacher in Utah! If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thank you!

Funny thing, today I was looking into learning Spanish with the Rosetta Stone Lanugage software too! What a coincidence. Anyway on the contrary I saw some negative reviews on Amazon.com and other review sites. In my opinion I don't think it would be a bad place to start as the brand name is quite popular for those wanting to learn a language. Obviously the best thing you could do is enroll in a local language course where you can actually speak Spanish with your peers (language is a practical skill!). If that is not what you're looking for, you might want to check out the many Spanish phrase books which are very helpful and use it as a supplement to the Rosetta Stone software. In any case, I suggest the Rosetta's Online Demo before you decide to purchase the software as it is quite expensive. Good luck!

A friend of mine used it for learning Russian; I saw the program and was quite impressed, it is the best language teaching software I've seen so far (and I am a) Russian; b) linguist)
