If so, what is your motive? My gf has started acting this way, especially about things she knows I like, for instance I love it when she wears stockings and heels. And I wonder if she does it just as a power trip or if there is some other reason.

Maybe she loves the control, maybe she wants to please you, or maybe she is like me and just loves wearing them. Here are some giveaway hints.
If she wears them a lot when you are not around, like I always do, she wears them for herself.
If every time she wears them she wants something, she is using them to get what she wants. A lot of guys whose wives and girl friend's never wear them would take that any day, and be happy.
If she just wears them when she is with you, and never asks anything in return, she is just trying to please you, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Count your blessings, a lot of women never wear stockings, and some girls like me always wear them. Check it out and see what kind she is, Controlling, pleasing, or sexy all the time. You may be pleasantly surprised!

No but I DO try to change the things he does, and sometimes the way he thinks (only with positive intentions) I think, when a women does try to ''change her man'' it is because she cares about him and feels that he is ''worth the work''....alot of women will dump a guy if she sees things in him that she dosent like but if her feelings are deep enough she will at least try to find or create the things she wants to exist within him. I wouldn't take it as an insult :)

of course she does that first for your appreciation, and secondly, i'm sure she won't be wearing anything she's not comfortable with. there are women that are willing to change styles to adapt to their men's tastes. for as long as she is ok with it, then it's fine. it will be difficult for a woman with short hair to grow it long even if she is uncomfortable with it just because her man finds women with long hair attractive. i have been in this kind of situation sooooo many times and it came to a point where i realized i am already losing my identity. i am very comfortable now that i know i dress up to please myself. it would help if you both if you get to appreciate each other for what you both are.
