Um no, your son is pulling your leg. Lortab or Vicodin is hydrocodone which is an opiate. The test would have come back positive for opiates not cocaine.
I would consider the police's conclusion to be accurate. If he is urine tested with 72 hr of his last use, the cocaine test will show a metabolite of cocaine in the urine called benzoylecgonine which is specific to cocaine use. I would consider this a positive indication of his drug use. Unfortunately for your son, but fortunately for you, very, very few things will cause a false positive for cocaine. The only ones I know are are kidney and liver infections, diabetes or amoxicillin (but don't tell him that or he'll claim he has all those things)
Besides - and this is the most obvious thing - who on earth is going to crush and snort a Lortab? Ugh.

No Lortab would not have any affect on a cocaine test. The test checks for specific dangerous chemicals present only in cocaine drugs... the reason it was a slight positive is probably because it was low grade (watered down coke), that happens all the time. Good luck!

Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are the 2 active ingredients in Lortab, it is highly unlikely that either of these would come back positive as cocaine. And all the people I know that take it DON'T snort it they merely swallow it as you would a pill. Lortab is of the opiate nature and is generally used as a painkiller. Opiates do not test positive for cocaine

does he has any pain in his body to use Lortab(related to codeine) to relieve pain??? And if so why is he storing it in a straw, kinda suspisious. But then again they say Lortab can be addictive and can be snorted like cocaine. I think you can only get it by a doctor's prescription. I dont think lortab can come up positive for cocaine, so yea..who knowsss

Look up substance abuse panel. I believe Lortab should fall under opiates. Cocaine shows up as cocaine. Different drug, however, why would he think using cocaine would be worse than using lortab? Still using a drug. Cocaine and lortab would definately show up on differently on a SAP.
