He could have taken us out for dinner and it would have been a lot less labor intensive. It would have be a win win situation.

I would much rather of seen him have a surf and turf and down a few cocktails with me. Getting nailed to a tree is a little over the top. What do you guys think?

So, maybe the conversation between God and Jesus was like:
"Yo, dad, what's up with your creation? Everybody is like real scum down here!"
"Yeah, I know! I made them remember? So what? They piss me off anyway! Someone's gotta pay for all this!"
"But dad, isn't it all really your fault? I mean, c'mon, you're supposed to know everything in advance. How could you get it wrong?"
"I didn't get it wrong,K? I'm God!! Don't tell me how to run things!"
"Okay...whatever. So what's the plan here?"
"Told ya! Someone's gotta pay the price for all this mess!!"
"Why don't ya just forget all that vengence stuff and let them poor ignorant sods get on with figuring out who thay are?"
"Hah!! You're a real clown sometimes, y'know that? I just figured who I'm gonna get to pay!"
"Who?"
"Take a wild guess!"
"Oh....S h i t!!"
"Hey watch your mouth!!
"Sorry...."
Oh.....S**t!!

Because that was the ultimate humiliation and shame.
He had to die to WASH away our sins. He was a sacrifice for us.
Taking us out to dinner and surfing isnt a sacrifice.

everybody may be able to do those things you say. And they are not sacrifice.

Why not take your parents/guardians who toiled to give you education. They are more of a sacrifice than taking someone to dinner.

It was written and prophesied from the book of Genesis through Revelations. Don't worry dear your shallow self in inconsequential to God, He does not suffer from low self-esteem, He knows who He is. Do you?

our sins were on Him as He was nailed to the cross and He died, and shed His blood. This took away our sin if we say yes and receive the free gift of salvation. He gave His life for us.
