ok so I've had a cold the past few days so as a remedy I ask my mom to grab me some nyquil on her way home. she gets home and makes a comment about being careful not to OD on the stuff. its a 10 fl oz bottle for christ sake. is it seriously possible to OD on nyquil like that? I've a feeling its just some lame myth. any answers would be awesome. (and for you psycho-analyzing morons out there, no I am not trying to kill myself with cold medicine..)

i think your mom might have been thinking about the dextromathoram {sic} it is what makes you feel like you've taken acid. kids drink robo DM because of it.

Yeah, it probably is possible to OD on nyquil. If you can OD on tylenol or other OTC medications, if you took enough nyquil you could probably do the same. Although, I would imagine you would need a lot of it.

Im not sure about Nyquill so to say but I know that a few years ago I heard about kids "doing Robo" as in slamming a whole bottle of Robotussin REAL fast, maybe even two& I guess it gets you all messed up....never tried it but Ive heard it makes you feel SUPER drunk & all crazy??? I do know that you have to be at least 18 to purchase it & they can limit how many bottles you can purchase.....

Look at the ingredients, it contains 10% alcohol, almost 20 extra strength Tylenol, and 10 sudafed. It wont kill you quick, but the possibility of liver damage is there and that can be a slow painful death.

Just follow the instructions and don't combine Nyquil with other alcohol or other cold medications.

Yes, depending on your particular sensitivity to the OC med, it is possible to OD. You most likely wouldn't die but hallucinations can happen, or nausea - just depends on your metabolism, and any sensitivity you might have.

you can OD on anything really even water, but as for this bottle your mom gave you i dont think you would "DIE" maybe have to get your stomach pumped or really sick, but if you ask me your mom was just remembering here time she did in the 70's

yes you can od on it, it has some alcohol in it and when you take it it makes you sleepy so if you take too much it can make you sleep forever. i can only take one gel cap if i take two i stop breathing....it only happens with nyquil
