T.V., VCR., and DVD player a plugged into a extension cord which is plugged into the outlet in the wall. VCR and DVD player continue to possess power. No fuses blown in the room. Power went out and turned back on in a matter of 2 seconds two straight nights before the TV stopped working. I am broke so I need to be able to fix it myself. Willing to save the buck and put the work in. Thanks for anyone who reads this and replies. Take care to all!

Ouch.

If you have/ can find on-line the manual to your TV, maybe there will be something that will tell you specifically if the power button flashing is an intentional signal to tell you of a particular problem. I don't fix TVs but have talked with people who do about related things and they say: Don't open up the TV. There is stuff in there that can kill you (capacitors).

Really anything that I can say that would be useful is for when you have a working TV again, however it will benefit your TV, VCR, and other electronics. Replace the extension cord with a surge protector. You need one for everything you don't want to have to buy again, for example: computer! Even if it isn't a top of a line, get something. I actually even unplug my surge protectors if I have time before the power comes back on (why wear those out?) Plus there are day to day variances, etc.

Good luck, I hope whatever it is it doesn't set you back much. If it really is dead, just convince a friend that they need a new HDTV and to sell you their old one cheap :)

Flashing red lights are a problem. The quick guide you got with the unit tells you this. Microsoft got so many complaints about dying X-box's that they extended the warranties for many units to 3 years. Contact them for a local service center and see if you can get it repaired under warranty.

Go to a doctor and get him to castrate you. That's how to fix yourself. As far as your TV problem goes, I have no ideas.
