in 2001 the Jewish population of the United states was estimated at 5.2 million

it depends on how you do the math..
jewish law says, if your mother was a jew, you are a jew.
since many trace ancestry through europe, africa, asia.... I'd say 80-90%
but if you want to know what percentage of people are practicing jews. hit wikipedia.
