pray....if you are having nightmares, ask God to protect your mind while you sleep....
Otherwise, if you have already done this and it doesn't work.....don't eat whatever it is you are eating before you go to bed..LOL

Yes, definitely! Go get the book listed in the sources below. I had a very active dreaming life for a few months that was very interesting. The only reason I stopped is because I wasn't getting enough sleep due to waking up two to four times a night wide awake after having an amazing dream.

You have always been in control, you just are unaware of it. Begin by realizing that what you consider being awake, (walking around, working, driving, every day "life"), is also a dream. You are in charge of your own "reality".
Give yourself suggestions before you fall asleep that you will become aware that you are dreaming, and if you do this dilligently, you will have results. This is called, "lucid dreaming". One becomes aware that they are dreaming without "waking up", then they begin to manipulate the activities in the dream. But again, we all do this in physical waking life. It's all the same.

I have heard about a technique where this is possible. Something about keeping a pad of paper and a pen next to your bed and recording your dreams when you wake up, then some other stuff. I have been able to control some of them but it takes a lot of practice and I am lazy sometimes. There is a book out there somewhere I used to have it, but lost it in the move.

All you have to do is know that you are dreaming. If you go to sleep with the thought that as soon as you know that you are dreaming, you are going to take control, you can do it. I do it all the time. It is called lucid dreaming and there are several different ways to do it.

Thinking about what you want to dream about right before you fall asleep can help you dream about those things. Don't you ever watch a movie before bed and then dream you're in it or have a dream that has something to do with the movie? Thats because it was on your mind when you fell asleep. It works

A dream is the experience of envisioned images, voices, or other sensations during sleep. Dreams often portray events which are impossible or unlikely in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer...

Just before you go to sleep, tell yourself that you want to wake up in your dream. This is called lucid dreaming. I never would have believed it until it happened to me. Keep a cool head, if you get too excited, you will loose lucidity.

Yes! It takes practice. Before you t you want to dream. Know in your heart that when you arrive in that dream state that you are the one that is in control. Manover your way through your dream making any changes that you desire. You can even set your own internal alarm clock. Have fun with it.

I don't know about before you go to sleep, but you can totally redirect dreams as you are dreaming them. Making a scary dream less scary for instance.
