Everyone aspiring to power needs an Enemies List. Hillary Clinton sent me one once. Included on it were Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition, right to lifers and the National Rifle Association. I can agree about the first two, but all of my family and friends support the NRA, as I told her. Look at Bible verses before the Satan was invented. God had to bring both good and evil, eg hardening Pharoah's heart in Exodus. Even brain dead believers may realize this is not an ideal situation. During the Persian Captivity, Hebrew priests saw just what was lacking in their religion. Zoroaster invented a war between good and evil gods, Ahuramazda and Ahriman. The Hebrews just borrowed Ahriman and called him the Satan, the Devil or Lucifer. Voila, they had a more inspiring religion with that badly needed Enemies List.

No, God does not need Satan to keep faith in God alive. People would have a lack of desire for God without Satan anyway, because the heart is born of wickedness and no righteousness. And Satan doesn't bother those who are not Christians anyway, he doesn't have too. He only bothers those that belong to Christ so that he can try to keep them ever off the path that Christ has set before the Christian. So, it's not a matter of would God cease to exist if Satan gave up his ways, it's more like, when God chooses for Satan to desist, God will still exist.

I don't know if God would cease to exist. /but I do know that if Satan become a "Good Guy" either one of his angels would take his place. Or the plan of being saved will be all messed up because there is no-one to save us from. Not to mention that know one on earth would receive bad influences. But, quite possibly, Free Will would disappear with him since there would be little to no choices to make.

First of all, Satan isn't as 'important' as GOD, at least not in my life, and shouldn't be in yours. I don't understand your logic that it takes an evil presence to establish 'religion'. There is only ONE true 'religion', and only ONE TRUE GOD.
Sonny, 'BAD' will always exist as long as Satan prowls the Earth, and he will until the end of the age (which I feel is already upon us).Good exists in our hearts, and not because there is 'bad' in the world.
GOD will ALWAYS exist. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. He always was and will always be, and Satan ain't-a-gonna stop him.

no, when we are born, we are born sinners, which means we are already on satans side (babys go to heaven) but as we grow and began to realize what is goin on then that is where Jesus says that the only way to the father is through him. So until we ask Jesus to come into our heart then we will be on Gods side, but if satan just gives up, (which he wont) because it says that he goes around like a hungry lion seeking people to devour. But it also says in the bible that he won't ever stop, he will burn in hell just like all of the other people that refuse to except the truth. peace.

Yes I think God created humanbeings and satans for keeping this world alive.God created prophets as his messengers and gave holy books as our life guidance in line with its era.for a certain race and for all of human beings. We are free to select a religion which is fit to each of us.God lets us to choose a religion freely because Allah has given us brain/thought and heart as a tool for selecting it.Satans was created by God from a fire and they vowed to God that along their lives they will tempt all humanbeings to do a wrong deed.Someone who has a shallow or weak faith can be tempted by satans to do a wrong doing. But someone who has a strong faith can not be tempted by satans and he/she will do only right deeds.in line with his/her religion teaching. They select a right path.Satans will invite him/her to a wrong path, but usually is good in his/her opinion that has been influenced by satans such as gambling, drinking drug/alcoholic drink, stealing, killing or suicide, cheating, conceiting, not fulfilling well his/her agreement/appoinment,lying,believing to other than God,eating pork, corrupting other's wealth, humiliating, injusting others or him/herself,etc.God will always exist .God has no beginning and no an end.God will judge us in surrection day. They who have more wrong doings than good doings,unbelivers/athei
sts and satans will be the inhabitant of hell eternally.

Christians spend more time promoting Satan than they do Jesus.
The "original sin" concept requires people to first accept Satan into their lives before they can accept Jesus. Christianity is based on Satan worship.

But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?
