put some liquid wrench on it and us vise grip. If you can get off with vise grips you can put chanel locks on the end of the vice grip for more leverage.

First off, did you remove the neg. terminal, if not do it now. Why? If you should ground yourself, lets say with a ring finger, your ring melts and you could lose the finger. WORK SAFE FIRST Don't hammer on the clamp as you don't want to break the post. Because you soaked the clamp, it may just lift off useing a battery clamp puller. Its cheap. Once off you can cut the bolt where you can see it at the center of the clamp. If only one side of the bolt comes out then use a pin punch to force the other side out. Then install a new bolt and nut, cover with grease. If that does not work, use a rotor burr and grind at two areas if needed. First over where the wire goes into the clamp. It will release the wire. Second, over the bolt, the material is soft so that it will cut with ease. If that does not work, try some C4. But stand back please. Good luck Mark....PS.. buy a new clamp

replace the entire terminal end tempoary ends made from lead are about 2 dollars copper ends that solder on available at boat marine dealers are better and some at the auto supply even have two set screws then hack saw across and at a angle to cut the old clamp off. Some customers opt for new battery harness installed about 200 dollars.

You need a gear puller. You can buy a small one at a place like Pep Boys; ask for directions there; however, it doesn't sound as if your battery or cable is exactly new, so why not undo the cable at the other end and replace the cable and the battery. Get at least a 6 year battery if you replace it. Good luck.

the prevous answer is good, and beyond that, i recomend replacing that clamp when you do get it off. not a hard task except that in general, modern vehicles are crowded in the engine compartment so that if it is a side mount battery it can be a challenge to get to the task at hand. Best to you on this maintenance invitation.

I would first remove the negative battery cable and then use a cut-off wheel (you can get them as attachments for your drill) to slice the bolt off.
