I have this wine tasting event tomorrow night, I am thinking about asking a crush of mine to go...is that a good first date? I don't want her to think i am a alchy, but I am no square either...It is a social club I am apart of, is it to much for a first date?

I am sorry, but spitting out the wine....come on....okay I won't get hammered either, but spitting it out seems just rude...

I 've been WT before and found that to be the custom for some, but for me I see it as a win win situation!!! No spitting!!

I've taken a girl out on a wine tasting tour for a date before and it was great time! Just let me give one bit of advice.... BE CAREFUL! One thing you don't want to do is drink to much. The last thing you want to do is drive your date around drunk and put her and yourself in danger. Drinking and driving is never a good idea. But if you two are going to be out after drinking just make sure that you don't drink too much that you can't get the both of you home safely. Also, most importantly... have fun!

It's great first date idea. They'll be other people, the wine will relax you both a little. Make sure she likes wine and most of all DON'T GET DRUNK AND STUPID!!!!

You never get a second chance to make a GOOD first impression. Especially on the first date.

Have fun!!! Have a sip of Merlot for me!

I think that would be a great date actually. It's a sophisticated sort of activity, and a fun one to boot. It's also a bit more original than most first date locations. Unless said crush has issues with alcohol (doesn't like it, has problems with it, etc.), I wouldn't see why it would be a problem to ask her. Go for it!

Best of luck!

I think it would be a great idea, it is a casual setting whilst being quite romantic, plus there is always the possibility of a few too many tastings and some special cuddles (wink wink) just kidding! - seriously though I say go for it, it would be a great opportunity to get to know each other better.

Assuming she likes wine, and you also arrange some dinner either before or afterwards, then it's great date. If you want to avoid looking like an alcoholic, then spit most of your wine into the bucket rather than swallowing it.

Of course, if she's teetotal, or a recovering alcoholic herself, or she only drinks pints of cider, probably best to think of something else.

I think that would be a fun date! I live near some great wineries and I keep wanting to go for a wine tasting. I think you should ask and see what she says!

Good luck!

I think that's a great idea. If I was asked to a wine tasting party, I wouldn't think that of the person.

It's not too much for a first date.... You just have to make sure that she's into wine!! I personally would love to go wine tasting!!!

It is a great date idea, but I agree, for a first date it might not be the best idea, i.e. better suited for a 2nd or 3rd date. That said, you have somebody in mind, go for it.
