It can be... but if someone suddenly wants space it can be a red flag. A lot of people get a form of cold feet where they feel like they're being swallowed by the relationship.
Try to maintain healthy non-couple time from the get-go, such as hobbies or hanging out with friends so that you can use the time as a retreat.

Yes you need space to do your own thing as long as youj come back to each other at the end of the day. If you are together 24/7 you will get on each others nerves. Give yourself space to do your own thing; sport, shopping, out with mates etc. This way when you're back together it will feel even more special.

Theoretically - yes. Thus, we won't appear to be desperate to the other partner. Also, it's more fun when you get back together at the end of the day or whenver 'cuz now you have two stories to share w/ one another. The question is can you handle it?
However, too much space is not healthy either, in my opinionl.

yes, you both need time with your friends and time alone, I was one of those people that wanted to be wth my bf all the time, but now I realized that it is a good idea to create space between you too. I am not saying don't see him for a week, but set aside a night where both of you will go out with your friends instead of with one another.

it depends if having space meant dating other people. but if space meant thinking and giving time for the current relationship to flourish more, then it is good.

Absolutely...you have to have your own time away from your partner. Remember although together, you still have your own identities..I believe it is good for a relationship, besides absense does help make the heart grow fonder...:)
