just wanted to know cos my queen bed feels kinda small now. Don't know if I'm getting too big or it's the bed that is shrinking!

Well sorry for being stupid! But it's good to know in what category we are! It seems that a lot of people would like to have a king as we do but can't afford it because of lack of space.
And no offense to anyone, so please don't take a subject so personally when it comes to Americans!

most us citezens sleep on queen size size beds, that is in real percentage; 1/3 king size and 2/3 (if that much ,on queen size beds) if not , look at the amount of apartments and truly think about their size, once that has sinked
in your head then will know a lot better...... king is a privileage for real homes , not apartments. example ;the state of california, new york city etc. I have lived there , both places , have you?

we have a queen. we wanted a king but we have an old house with small rooms. so it was a queen and be able to walk around the bed, or a king and crawl into the closet. its not to bad. granted when the dog and a cat jump on top of the covers as well it gets a bit tight.

It's a personal preference what ever size of bed they like. Mine is a king size bed. Some people have to base their decision on the fact that they may have a smaller bedroom and can't fit a big bed in there.

When my husband was alive a king size was good but now a double is better. Any thing larger would be a waste of space and a twin makes me feel like I'm going to fall out when I turn over. I toss a lot when sleeping.

A king size bed is actually bigger than a queen size bed. Then there is the California King which is even bigger.

Well I sleep on a queen size bed and I'm 5'2,
so is big enough for me. Mattresses do get
old after you use it for so long, it starts
wearing out. It does not shrink!

i sleep on a queen with my husb. but if i were single i would sleep on a twin! i hate how much space a bed takes out of a room. tons of people think that the bigger the bed, the more luxurious, but not me. i only sleep on so much of the bed, might as well not pay extra for the bigger sheets and the loss of space. i have worked in real estate and have seen people with 10x11 bedrooms with a kingsize mattress and it is ridiculous! stick with the smaller mattress, it's a great excuse to cuddle up with the one you love :)

If you're bed seems smaller, then yes, you have probably gotten bigger. My husband and I are average-sized, and we have no problems sleeping on a queen sized bed together.
