Why is it that we always have to be the ones who PROVE? Why aren't atheists held to the same standard. Atheists state that we can't PROVE that God exists. If they demand that we must have all the answers that can prove God exists, why must they not have all the answers to prove He does not exist. Atheists cannot explain how nothing came from something at the Big Bang. Nor can they explain if matter always existed before the big bang then where did the energy come from to cause the explosion. Many atheists responded to this earlier question of mine with "I can't explain it now but with time science will be able to prove it." Why then is it not acceptable for us to say " I can't explain everything about God but I know He exists and some day at the day of judgment I will be able to prove it.?" This is not an attempt to inflame atheists. I speak ONLY to Christians to bolster your faith. Do not be ashamed of your belief in God. Reach out WITHOUT ANGER to those who do not believe.

Not meaning to be rude but this question was not addressed to atheists. I specifically addressed it to Christians so I'm not sure why you have responded.

My purpose was to specifically and only speak to Christians to bolster their faith.

Yes, ( and I appreciate the tenor of your note) my wife and I have discussed the concept of atheism with our children. In fact they have asked questions about it. Of course we do not support it but we have explained to the best of our ability the reasoning we understand to be behind the belief system. Thanks again for your kind voice.

Creationism by God and the process of evolution are not necessarily exclusionary of each other.

Wow. Youre makin it tough. Many wonderful thoughtful answers. But I've narrowed it down to you two. Trying to figure out a way to pick two best answers. I'll sleep on this tonight and pick one tomorrow. But whichever I pick know that both of you have great rewards waiting for you if you will just walk in the light as He is in the light.

I thank you for your question. More than ever we need to pull together and build up each other. We must first turn to Him that is love, and draw from His strength, and from that flow all of us will be strengthened. It is our Christian love for each other that will pull us through. We have no power on our own to do this, but only through Jesus Christ. We must devote ourselves to prayer and worship, and let the power of the Holy Spirit overwhelm us, because we cannot convert anyone by our words no matter how much we preach. Only the Holy Spirit can do that.

We must take heart in Jesus. This life can be hard and our faith is constantly tested, but if we are to follow in His footsteps, then we must accept His cross and suffer as He did.

Blessed are you when they insult you, and persecute you and utter every kind of falsehood against you, for your reward will be great in heaven (paraphrasing).

If we didn't have the truth, then why do so many people get so angry?

Jesus tried to give them the Truth, and they killed Him for it. And He responded back by loving them, and dying for their sins.

God bless.

The burden of proof is always on the ones with a point to make... the ones who have a position to defend... that goes for either side of the debate... creation or evolution. The thing is though, evolution is observable. Creation isn't provable because we cannot observe it... it is based on faith. To believe that a single Being could create everything with all its complexity in less than a week is just as ridiculous as believing that everything randomly came together through trial and error over a long period of time... the difference again is evolution is still an observable fact.

Why would you worry about someone who believes in nothing? The big bang is a theory that many of the smartest and most knowledgeable people accept, so I find it hard not to. Christianity just has too many holes and is too easy to scrutinize. I personally believe that God has to exist...if only to provide reasoning behind the big bang, evolution, etc. But in light of the diversity of religions on this earth alone, there is no way that any of us have an idea of who God really is. And if that angers you, or you protest that you do know God just remember that a Muslim man is protesting the same thing, with the same vindictiveness(the ones who are willing to kill themselves in the name of their God probably would protest even more than yourself)

We are not required to prove that God exists. All we are required to do is spread the gospel. Jesus commanded us to tell everyone about the Word of God. If someone has not heard about the Word and we know them, I believe that if they go to hell, it would be somewhat my responsibilty because I didn't tell them. But if I did tell them, and they refuse to believe, it is their fault, if they go to hell.

We should have an urgency to spread the gospel. Give people you meet the plan of Salvation (Romans Road) and ask them if they know where they are going to go when they die.

Don't let the people (Atheists) bother you, don't answer their questions, don't respond to them. They are just trying to get a rise out of you. You will never be able to "prove" that God exists to someone who doesn't want to believe. They will know some day, hopefully before it's too late.

Atheists do believe in spiritual things. I found this out from an atheist who was afraid of something she didn't understand. If they look deep, they will find they believe in something, they just don't understand what it is.

Through the power of your hand turned the sea into dry land
To the outcast on her knees, you were the God who really sees

though your Word contained the plan, they just could not understand

OK You asked for christians only and I am an athiest. My point is why are you so insecure that the first thing you say is that you feel that you have to prove your point? I have never, never had the urge to prove to any one my belief because it obviously speaks for itself. Something I have always wanted to ask a christian is this, have you ever told your children the "story of atheists" without being rude. We have always told our children the stories of Jesus and simple Bible stories so they could keep up their side of a conversation. They were told in the same vein as Santa, Red Riding Hood Cinderella and so forth. They are all parents now and have followed the tradition. Have you told your children about us withut being rude? I once babysat for neighbours children when I was a mother my self. They were told I was going to hell because I wasn't Christian. Those children had come to love me as I had them, they ended up sobbing and crying and begging me to become a Christian so I wouldn't go to hell. That wasn't fair, I don't think it was very " Christian" of their parents and it broke my heart. Why would they teach their kids that. Just thought I'd ask. No hard feelings.

The reason that they question and then say you haven't proved anything is an attempt to lay the blame for their own failure on someone else.

It is easy to cast doubt, but it is not easy to admit that one is a sinner.

I want to be responsible for me. Just tell them this, sinner friend, if it makes you feel good to blame me for your shortcomings then go ahead and do so. You will still have to answer for yourself at the Great White Throne Judgment.

To all who make light and disrespect my Jesus, let me invite you to come and meet me at the foot of the cross and lets' have a talk with Jesus.

It is not easy being a christian until you become one in word and deed, then it is easy to be a christian.

We know how the story ends. Lets' try and take as many with us as we can.

Dont say CHRISTIANS ONLY and then bash us behind our backs.

Im an atheist, and clearly you have a problem with free speech rights.
The most recent rendition of the Big Bang theory is that the big bang happend when a previous universe collapsed in on itself, like when a star turns into a black hole. This mass of energy caused it to expand out again, just like when you drop a ball, it bounces back up, because every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Secondly, and I state this as calmly as possible - Christians who try to convert me PISS ME OFF! I am happy as an atheist, as it makes more sense to me than religion does.

Thankyou, my faith in myself is bolstered.

Think "Evangelism."
;-)

Matthew 28:11 ¶ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

You may be asked to prove because your ideology reigns over our society, and those who don't subscribe just *may be* a little hesitant to take that leap of faith simply based on majority rule. I'd never ask you to justify your personal beliefs. If that works for you, terrific. But the very second that is imposed on another person, you better have some pretty good reasoning.

We dont have to prove anything. Just share God's words with them because these people can only be touched through prayer and by the Spirit of God.

If they ask you to prove that God exists, ask them to give you proof that He doesn't.

They can't see air, but they know it is there and they need it to live and feel it when it moves as wind.

God's presence is much similar. We cannot see any physical form, but we know He is there and we need Him to live. And we see and feel Him by the Holy Spirit and His works and miracles.
