in order for the pill to be effective you need to be taking if for one whole cycle........once you have started the pill take all 21 tablets and then have a period and then it is safe to have sex without falling pregnant.
dont forget that the pill is only protecting you against pregnancy and not STDs still use a condom

It takes a while for the pill to work, maybe a whole cycle or more so that the hormones can get into your system. To be effective (against pregnancy) you should take the pill at the same time every day and not skip doses, even if you aren't sexually active. The hormones have to stay in your system so you can't take a weeks worth of pills and then stop for two months and start taking them again randomly.
If you are worried that you are pregnant then take a test. If you are still sexually actice make sure you use back-up protection (like a condom) because even the pill isn't 100% effective.

The pill should be taken on the first day of your cycle.

There are dangers for getting pregnant with or without the pill. Always count 14 days from the first day. Whatever date this gives you, 3-4 days before and 3-4 days after is the danger zone.

If you are going to be sexually active, be smart and use condoms regardless if you are using the pill. It will not only protect you more but it will also keep you safe from STD's.

Better be safe then sorry.

Good luck!

Whoever prescribed the pills for you should have explained all of these things, and answered any questions that you have. If you are trying to prevent pregnancy, you need to make sure that the particular method that you are using is being used correctly. You should also be made aware of the side effects and possible complications involved.

The pills are a hormone replacement system that is designed to fool your body into thinking that it is already pregnant, thus keeping you from getting pregnant. It will take a little time for your body to adjust. Until it has, you need to be modifying your method of birth control.

I hope you used a condom also. It will take more than a few months for the birth control to be in your system to "prevent" pregnancy. That is why you are supposed to use a back up birth control for the first few months. Why have sex? And why risk your life by not using a condom. You need to go back to the Doctor and request some "Sex Education". Sorry , but I am a mom and I would not want my daughter to risk her life this way.
