Gun control doesn't control the illegally bought guns and the market for them, so no, the Canadian Gun control, is a bureacratic error no one wants to admit, and another way the government has shewed its canadians just how badly they are managing our tax dollars. How about a boycott on taxes.

In a perfect world, such things wouldn't happen. This is not such a place. It is sad, horribly sad anyone vaguely resembling a human being could do such a thing. Do I think Gun Control is likely or even possible? Unlikely, at best. I think there is no real reason to have an Uzi and say it's a hunting gun...unless you are hunting people. I do not think sane people need hundreds of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition...but the lunatic fringe will undoubtedly differ. Fishing does not require explosives as far as I know. Still someone will say it does. Such is life, I suppose.

yes, it works in other countries, you need rapid fire weapons to do real damage. Unfortunate Canada is next to the home of gun nut America. If he had a knife maybe a couple of people at most. Guns kill people , no guns no gun deaths
gun control is the only answer

Nope. If you want a gun, you can get it whether it's against the law or not. Obviously they are not worried about breaking the law.
Drives me nuts when they say there would be less crime on the streets if there were tougher gun control laws. What a joke!

Gun control in canada is difficult because gun control in the US is so light.

Implementing strict gun control now in the US wouldn't have an impact in either country for decades, it would take that long for the illegal supplies to dwindle.

No... if a person WANTS a gun, they will get one. Gun control would only take guns out of the hands of people who would only use them for protection and hunting.

... Probably not, but it would be very interesting to know just where this man got his firearm. Was it from a store.. from a mail order catalogue or the internet. If we want to control gun use, we have to ban them.. but that will never happen. Still too many people think shooting and killing, even animals is a sport.

Not based on the experiences of other democratic, Western, and English-speaking countries (i.e., Britain and Australia). Gun control has been, in terms of gun crime, a disaster for them.

Gun controls only keep law abiding people from having guns. Criminals by definition will never be hindered from the black market. Gun controls favor criminals, by disarming the victims.

Do you not realize that criminals have the ability to get any thing they want at any time? Legal or Illegal.

Do you think they would say, "Oh we can't have a gun because they are illegal."?
